eBay now completely Free to Sell.

Think I’ve bought my last couple of TVs and laptops on eBay.

As said above, a lot of the big retailers put their returns / refurbished stock on there

I buy quite a bit on ebay. Almost always cheaper than Amazon when you add in delivery costs (unless you have Prime, which personally I find pointless unless you like any of their pretty rubbish TV offerings).

In fact, I ended up getting my office chair off there. :p

I haven't used eBay for a long time for buying/selling privately. It's more of an e-commerce store these days. Everyone has left to go sell where there are no fees like Facebook marketplace or vinted.

If you're buying cheap Chinese stuff on Amazon then it probably is cheaper on eBay but it's cheaper still getting them direct from China via AliExpress etc.

EBay vs Amazon is a matter of preference. EBay for buying from a company sometimes falls down on the delivery method, often have to pay and items are sent via Royal Mail which can take a while. Amazon Prime is excellent and next day. If you use Prime regularly, which you get dragged into when you subscribe, the free next day delivery covers the cost. I find it great for diy stuff like a £2 item which I would have to waste a couple of hours searching B&Q for when it’s on Amazon with reliable delivery. A matter of opinion of course.

I do agree if you have Prime Amazon wins. But there’ve been times I’ve had Prime and not used it, so I try to avoid being tied into it.

I used to like bidding on eBay for older sports cards, mostly baseball, and had created quite the collection using the service.
Sadly though in recent times, the now significantly increased extra cost of charges for shipping from US to Canada has negated the value of the service for me. I am essentially now limited to buying from Canadian sellers with acceptable shipping charges.

We have Prime and agree with you completely, my youngest likes steve and magie on prime tv, that keeps her quiet for hours and the bonus of free next day delivery even on a sunday is great, especially for DIY stuff or replacement chargers etc
