eBay- Just won my first auction!

I know lots of people have been using eBay for years and the name is synonymous with buying and selling etc, but I only joined today to see how it all worked.
I was always a bit dubious of the system and PayPal etc but today took the plunge.

Sweaty palms, watching the bids rise and the clock tick down was enthralling. Eventually the item is mine for the princely sum of £3.50

Might move onto more risky items in the future!

Dont put your bid in until the last few seconds, otherwise its easy to get into a bidding war and you give people opportunities to outbid you. Literally just put in the max amount you are willing to pay right at the end, and ebay will automatically bid for you up to that amount, but you wont pay that amount unless someone else has a higher price put in.

Don’t bid on Sunday, when you’ve had a couple of beers, or most importantly on Sunday when you’ve had a couple of beers....

I tend to use the filter to see which auctions are ending soonest, and then wait until there's 10 seconds remaining and place my bid.

Works out 9 times out of 10.
