Eat out to help out.... it begins!

Popped into sticky fingers on way home , they only do burgers but was very nice , 6 quid with a drink, place was nearly empty

Any examples if in Teesside see if I recognise anyway...

That’s the spirit Gravy.... all aboard the bargain express
na I'm not in Teesside. There are a lot of restaurants close to where I live, all are registered, but so are all the takeaways.

Lets solve the coronovirus problem by stuffing our faces with saturated fat and giving our money to multinational corporations(y)

Lets get the nation fat again(y)

Lets get the NHS coronary departments to deal with the effects of obesity and diabetes - as if they hadnt got enough to do.

Get Fat For Britain(y)

Love a bit of attention you mate dont you. Most nonsensical post on the thread. Im going out to a restaurant for a chicken salad. What you got to say about that?

Got enough threads going on the front page today?

Comments based on Professor John Ashtons observations about the priorities of Government concerning coronavirus - he was Director of Health for North West England - concerned that The Prime Minister is more concerned with opening fast food chains than providing PPE and a vaxine.

If your not interested dont bother reading them.

Professor John Ashton a member of the Labour Party and the favourite go to guy for The Guardian.

Though i don’t want this thread to be derailed. It’s about people experiences taking advantage of the eat out to take out bonanza. Reviews and anything else they like to pass on

I think Professor John Ashton would speak as a health professional before politicising any Government decision/initiative so let's not cast any aspersions.

But you're right, the thread is primarily aimed at posters who are happy to take up the offer of which I am one. The establishment we dined in today was happy to receive us. We had a nice meal and I saved a few quid into the bargain. It doesn't stop me despising the Tory Party and all they stand for but for me the initiative is all about supporting hard pressed eateries.

Any advice on where to eat col?

I haven't read all of this thread but I'm up on Teesside this week and I've just struggled to book a table for any restaurant in Norton for this Wednesday. I couldn't work it out until someone pointed out that it was probably because of the deal.

I would just venture to boro.... try Persian cottage if you can get in, Vadah in Stockton is excellent too. Not just typical curry place. I had the seabass when I went

Keep it on the rails cooper.;)

My wife and daughter went to our local cafe today for lunch with a friend. She says it was nice to get the money off, she felt she was getting a bargain, which she was. The friend was an anesthetist so I gave my wife the money to buy her and her little boy lunch as a bit of a thank-you.

All that said, I can understand peoples skepticism when you can't have a friend round your house, but you can eat in a restaurant, but we all know why that is, I am sure, and it is nothing to do with staying alert or controlling anything. On the flip side, we all want our local eateries to stay in business.
Your wife depends on you for spending money?

Down here a couple of the chains have created special Monday- Wednesday menus for the EOTHO period. Bill’s for example have a curtailed menu - isn‘t this is a bit against the spirit of the scheme?

It certainly is in my opinion mate. Although I don't see the point in a special menu for this scheme.
We haven't made a new menu for the scheme or adjusted any of the dishes, it's not like a typical discount places sometimes run, we get the difference back off of the government.

Monday nights are usually our quietest nights of the week. The last 3 including last night have been 3 of our busiest in years.
What I have noticed since we've been back at work is instead of people piling out on a Friday and Saturday night for a night out they are spreading out throughout the week now. People's confidence has returned whilst still be cautious.

Well my suspicion they have done it is to get people in and out quicker, produce more in batches and take advantage of the increased volumes. A little naughty. The independents haven’t done it.

Day 2 of the eat out to help out bonanza. Certainly won’t be returning to The Spa hotel.

Post your updates. I will have another review today.

Any decent beers in your place Randy?
