E-Scooter Rental to be made Legal in UK on Saturday

You may find this is more common when they're swerving to miss scooter riders.

I felt uneasy with e-scooters on the pavements when I came across them, like bicycles, they should be dismounted when not on the road.

When did you last see a cyclist dismount for the footpath?
Would they swerve to miss them? Or just go round them like they currently do with cyclists? I can't see why adding scooters to a road would all of a sudden make car drivers drive differently.

Agree with pavements though.

Can you clarify why then? The top speed of the vehicles are the same but in one (the one which kill c.1 pedestrian a day btw) it is unreasonably slow, and the other looks fun.
You think you get the same experience in a car as on a scooter? The statement that 15 MPH for a car is unreasonably slow and the statement that 15mph on a scooter looks fun are both valid and in no way mutually exclusive.

Different sizes of vehicles and modes of transport. To help you visualise: 200 MPH is unreasonably slow in an airliner, but terrifying fun in a car

Just bought myself a Xiaomi M365 Pro a couple of weeks back, public transport having been so badly affected in my area during the Covid crisis that I found myself in need of a way to get out and about. Way I see it is, if used properly, they're no more dangerous than bicycles. Many cyclists actually travel faster, especially downhill. Also, I see many of the scooters are being advertised as 'the final mile' solution which alludes to the distance between one's final public transport stop returning from work and home. The hope is some people might be tempted to leave their cars at home, particularly in decent weather, with attendant benefits to the environment. I see more pros than cons tbh. Besides, as others have said, they're a lot of fun.

You are not going to be able to use it on the public highway though?

Good Lord, but that would be illegal.
