Duzza in Premier League Finals tonight.

I wonder if when crowds are allowed back in to the Premier League darts, whether Glen being now established would have the pull to bring one of the weekly events to the Middlesbrough Town Hall, how good would that be !!

Was a cracking performance in the final last night.

Thought at one stage he was never going to pull away from Asp. Somehow it was 6-6 but Duzza was playing far better! Thankfully he managed to get that break and he never looked back. The 127 checkout pretty much killed Asp!

And there were those that doubted him!

Quality once again Duzza! UTB(y)

Needs to look at his own game before slating duzza ...

Duzza is very humble, maybe part of his teesside make up.
A working class lad done good.

I just don't think MVG gets it, it wont be personal.

He was working full time 12 months ago, MVG has been a superstar for years.
It may look false to others but up here thats how most people are, not flash and brash like our southern counterparts.

Im a a big Duzza fan, there is an element of truth in what MVG says of course, the averages were poor, the semi final was pretty poor on both players parts, however if MVG has nothing good to say maybe he should just stay quiet. His game has fallen so far he wasn’t even close to making the final and competing with the poor standard he describes!

“A few good finishes “ There have been many many games in the premier league where he puts in tonplus finishes to win or save games where he has looked out of it.

as mentioned he was working until recently and is relatively new. For me I would say if he can get consistency in his scoring up to the level of some of the others whilst maintaining his finishing he will be the very best for many years to come!

MVG has had a couple of digs at him - it’s up to MVG to get his game back to where he can do his talking on the board. Until then he can sulk around in the shadows!

He has shown that scoring is less important than getting over the line and that's what win games by demoralising your opponent.

Darts isn’t just about averages it’s about matchplay. The ability to brush off poor legs and still perform

wade and durrant are the best when it comes to matchplay.

Yes he has - I see what you are saying - I just think he would be immense if he could be a heavier scorer more consistently.

Agree. I don't fully understand why he switches to 19s so often after one dart and going for bull as a third scoring dart (not to set up a finish).

Yes - there is room for improvement and I’m sure he works hard On all aspects, sometimes it may just not come off on the big stage. Thing is I believe he will improve and now move up the rankings, which is great considering the short space of time he has been around!

I don’t know whether it was nerves but the amount of times his darts drifted into the five the other night, I was screaming at the TV!!

I looked at Duzza’s scoring over the PL and for 100s and 140S his total matched the best. His 180s were way down a lowest in the league by far. Does that matter? No, he was the best throughout the tournament and deservedly won it.

A case of ‘guns (180s) for show, knives (finishes) for a pro!’ I think.

Which is the case with Michael Smith - All the talent in the world, arguably the best in the world when it come's to high scoring but when it gets to the knitty gritty stuff, the big pressure finishes or doubles, he bottles it.. Whereas you have Duzza who is the total opposite, every game just plods on, averaging mid to high 90s and more than likely around 40-50% on his doubles.

Except when he concentrated for the big finishes. 100% concentration must be difficult for an hour of darts.

I've had the pleasure of meeting Glen and there's nothing fake about him or his interviews. He's a genuine, lovely bloke who appreciates every bit of support he gets and is clearly in dreamland with the success he's had since going full time. I think he's even exceeded his own expectations and he can't quite believe it. MVG is talking out of his ar$e I'm afraid.
