Anyone think the extension to his deal will be announced today? We like a Monday announcement on contracts.
 
I read over the weekend that other champo clubs have taken an interest. None mentioned by name so definitely just waffle. I really can't see him going anywhere else.

It was interested how Warnock was adament he was the right manager and we were the right club for him to go forward. He clearly likes it with us and probably as importantly doesn't have to move his family.

I just hope his agent doesn't get in his ear and increase whatever they were asking on the back of these goals. I doubt we will be held to ransom.

He's still a bit of a risk. We could tie him down on a 2yr deal (doubt it would be more) and his knee could go next week. He's hardly played any football in 2 years. I'm sure the contract will reflect that with staying fit type bonuses.

I like the look of him playing up top and drifting wide👍. His goal record didn't really suggest he was a 'goal scorer'. He seems to have the positional nounse and ability to get into the box at the right time.

Sign him up before Wednesday. He may get a hatrick and everyone will want him😂
 
End of the season and if he stays fit a promise of a 2 year deal. Thats what I would offer.

He is contracted to end January.
He could get probably ten offers before then based on his form and all of them paying more than we will currently be.
It would be incompetence in the extreme not to offer him a significant contract, unless he has fitness/injury problems we can't see as fans.
A two and a half year deal now on decent money, followed up by a longer contract offer on better money in the summer if he continues this form to the end of the season.
That builds value in a player, just like they are doing with several others right now.
I think they will get this right.

I think we will probably offer him a 2 and half year deal myself and hopefully he stays fit. But I sort of get where biggy was coming from as he has had huge amount of injury problems. Hopefully he is free of them now. If so, Warnock looks to have pulled of an absolute coup to be honest.
 
I liked him when he first came on to the scene at Sunderland, I think he thrived under Allardyce, who is similar to Warnock in being able to motivate players. Obviously not helped by injuries and confidence must have taken a hit with Sunderland's troubles. He seems to have a good understanding with Akpom, think I read somewhere that they played together for England U21s. Akpom reminds me a bit of Heskey, one of these players who other players like playing with but fans don't rate.

It would be interesting to see what his wage demands are. You'd think after being released from a league 1 club he'd be 'cheap'.

Although I doubt that's the case. He was on a premier league 4yr contract at Sunderland with many saying he was on 20-25k a week in league one (puts Britts wages into perspective as they also had Rodwell and McGeady)

Hes gonna have to take a significant pay drop. That's the only 'issue' with other clubs sniffing. They could bung him and extra 5k a week or something. It's definitely like the gaffer says 'grass isn't always greener' 👍
