I guess when we are so light on bodies there is no harm in giving him an opportunity in training to show whether he’s got something to offer.
It’s a little bit sad though, when we are looking at wingers released by league 1 clubs.

A decent young talent before not one but 2 bad injuries. He was fit last season but hardly did anything. That said I think Sunderland made it very clear he wasn't wanted due to wage and his contract running out (didn't offer him a new one).
I was suprised he was 26. Thought he was still early 20s.
To be honest he's only been training for a week. So it doesn't mean we are anywhere near signing him. That said he's free and probably sees this as a great opportunity as league 1 clubs look the other options.
It's low risk. I doubt he will get more than a season deal and he can play wide in a 3. We simply need numbers and I trust Warnock and the medical staff to get it right if we offer him a year with maybe option to extend.
Warnock has a clear habit of making players better. So why couldnt he get Watmore going again? He was class 2-3 years ago.

Totally agree with this. If he’s got some of the pace left he gives us something different and always had an engine on him. Warnock working miracles at the moment let’s hope he can get a couple in just to help freshen it up when needed.

He was signed by Sunderland from my adopted home town club of Altrincham.
Fitness is key for this lad and any chance of getting a contract at Boro will surely hinge on him demonstrating that.

I remember he had a 'good turn of pace' back in the day - which he may or may not have now.. but like you said, we must have seen something in him

He's clearly impressed. He's been with us for 2 weeks so they've kept that on the downlow.
I guess he's probably been on a few quid at Sunderland. That maybe an issue but you'd think he would lower his demands for a chance for a crack at the champo.

Not for me, he looked finished the couple of times I saw him last season, runs slower than wheater these days. Injuries have ruined him, not one Sunderland fan wanted him to sign a new contract.
that said if we do sign him I hope he proves me wrong but I just don’t see it being worthwhile.

Always impressed me when I saw him play in his early breakthrough season(s!)... Would definitely take a punt on him.
