Drinking in and around King's Cross

Off to London on Saturday for the day to NOT watch Coventry v Luton. Not that familiar with the place and so are there any decent places maybe only 2 or 3 stops on the tube with a few good bars, maybe a couple of beer gardens etc?

Thanks in advance.

I often go to that cider place when I'm in that neckofthewoods. It's in the old Doric arch in front of Euston station. Which is right out of kings cross then walk down Euston road for five minutes. The toilets aren't always open so you have to use the toilets in Euston and if they are open you would probably wish they weren't. But the drink is nice so it's good if you're into that sort of place.

2 stops on the northern line gets you to Camden. The market is worth a walk round and the pubs in Camden are pretty good. World end usually has bands on a weekend but a while since I have been.

Outside euston Station is a real ale pub I think it might be the dorric arch that sherif recommended. Left hand side of euston square as you exit the station.

You mean you have to find somewhere else now the Flying Scotsmen has been all renovated?

The Scottish Stores just round the corner on Caledonian Road is a decent place for a pint of real ale. Some will remember it as an indecent place as it had strippers but it's cleaned up since then and won awards and stuff. I was in there a few weeks ago it was very good.

edit: @Lefty got there first

I remember that as a stripper joint that was some time ago though. Went in with some mates after work it was a bit of a dive.

A 10 minute walk up Pentonville Road and you'll come to Upper Street. Lots of bars/pubs, some with beer gardens and spilling out on to the street. There are a couple down by the canal as well.

There are a few options behind kings x in coal drop yard.

You're a few stops away on tube from Camden, London bridge (borough market), cov garden, Soho.

I am not keen on London Bridge for a pint.

The Lighterman, behind Kings Cross on Granary Square, has an outside space by the canal (out the back as well as the front). 5 mins walk
The Edinboro Castle on Mornington Terrace/Delancy Street in Camden Town has a massive beer garden. 2 stops on northern Line. Might be mobbed if its sunny
The Albion, Thornhill Rd in Islington. secret garden out the back and a plethora of other pubs stumbling distance - The Regent, Pig and Butcher, The Crown, Drapers Arms and Upper Street...
15 mins walk

It was mostly full of suites and drug dealers ad I recall.

The first time I went, which I think must have been one of Boro's old Wembley appearances, it was one of the hottest days of the year, the strippers were rank and there was a bloke in there stood in the corner in a full length brown mac, hands in his pockets and you could see him fapping away underneath 😁
