Draft pick 10 players to start a new club

Neville and Carragher did this on sky this morning, they had to NFL style pick 10 players they would have for a new club for the next 5 years so obviously age would play a part in this. What would your 10 be?

Here’s mine and it was horrible to leave out the best player in the world in Messi but he is in his early 30’s so had to do it.

1. Kylian Mbappe

2. Virgil Van Dijk

3. Aymeric Laporte

4. Allison

5. Kevin De Bruyne

6. Frenkie De Jong

7. Trent Alexander Arnold

8. Bruno Fernandes

9. Jadon Sancho

10. Erling Haaland

could with a left back George Friend would be my 11th pick

Block, I can honestly say I've only heard of three players you've listed, plus Allison, who I thought played in goal for Liverpool

Guessing the 3 you have heard of are KDB, Van Dijk and Alexander Arnold ? And yeah Allison is the Liverpool keeper, him or Oblak best keeper in the world for me

No's 2, 5 & 7 & Allison, who I think must be a different player to the GK, or the same one

I never watch MOTD, or any PL matches, or read on PL teams, though if I had to chose one to watch it would be Man City

Yeah haha I got the ones you had heard of. And yeah it is the Liverpool keeper that I have selected .

Did you not watch the World Cup ? Surprised you don’t know Mbappe

We're getting in to a bit of debate on here as before when I posted I never watch England, or any world cups, euros I got shot down

Would I like Boro to be in the PL, yes for financial reasons only not as a spectator

I've asked my son who each player is

I still enjoy reading posters who love & enjoy European football but not for me
 
I doubt any of these players would be happy dropping to the North West Counties or Isthmian League or whatever in order to start this new club.

Fair enough but I think you would love watching the international tournaments , they are absolutely brilliant imo. Yeah I know you don’t watch much footy but good that you still follow the boro

I asked my son & when he explained each player to me, especially the No9 I remembered he went abroad to play early in his career, I think

What threw me Block I thought the No's were the positions they played

See you're educating me 👍

Still won't watch em mind 😊

No was just my pick in order of importance in my opinion.

If I was gonna put them in positions it would be like this

Allison

Alexander Arnold
Van Dijk
Laporte

De Jong
De Bruyne
Fernandes

Sancho
Haaland
Mbappe

As you can see I’m missing a left back haha that’s where boro legend Friend will fit in 😂. Would be Robertson really if I was allowed an 11th pick.

You know what Block, I woukd say you're of a similar age to my son, he's 23 & he's so much in to his music that he rarely watches any football either, he knew the players & explained them to me but one thing is certain & I've told him, he's nowhere near the passion I had for football until maybe the PL kicked in, his passion is his music

Keep em coming, maybe one day I coukd challenge you to a world 11v European 11

Brilliant, it’s good we all have our passions and I think I may of listened to some of his stuff you posted before he’s very good. My passion is being obsessed with the football so I apologise if I can be too much in my opinions sometimes it’s just cause I absolutely love it. And yeah similar age to me then as I’m 25, and I will look forward to that challenge haha!
 
Don't be apologising one bit, I posted on the get shirty documentory regarding people's passions on shirts, which I can relate too & listen to anyone on their passions, it what makes the world go round
