Don't pay uk

It is a good idea. But it's a one in all in thing. If we all did it actions would have to be taken. You current prosecute 66 million people that easily.

As others have said though, we won't all do it, and the fewer that do it the greater the risk
In theory yes but getting anywhere near the level required will be Impossible. Take the amount of households in the uk, the majority will still be able to afford bills so won’t want to risk not paying so the amount who would be willing to take part will always be a minority.

But it’s also a valid point with how these companies would recoup the lost billions if every household did this, wouldn’t bills just go up further or even worse the companies go bust?

Is this a campaign against the price of energy or a campaign against the profits made by the big 6 energy providers (and shareholders)?
If its the latter then people can transfer over to Ecotricity - British company - no shareholders - all profits go back to green projects.
"What makes us different is that we have no shareholders. So, instead of paying dividends we invest your bills in building new forms of green energy. And, you can be absolutely certain that the energy we supply will not be greenwashed."

The government would be forced to intervene, possibly by re nationalising power. That's the whole point of a protest. People power making it impossible not to be noticed, forcing the government to act, even a government as neglectful as this one.

I agree with you about numbers though. This country is too passive, its citizens not politically motivated and far to easy to accept the poo end of the stick

When you cease paying for something by cancelling a direct debit the energy company legally can turn the supply off. Looking at the dontpayuk sites they have a paucity of information and aims. The ill formed campaign urges action without thought towards the logical consequences. It looks like a school project.
I've just seen something similar in terms of ill informed protests. Some dual toothed **** wants to block two specific petrol stations here in Weymouth as a protest. Completely ignoring the fact that the others in the area would remain unaffected. He's getting rather upset people are calling him out on his lack of forethought.
