Don't Look Up - Netflix

Brilliant and humorous satirical swipe at political handling of a given crisis and how scientific opinion can be ridiculed and dismissed.

Some people may recognise 'themselves' amongst the characters.

The family watched it last night, they thought it was rubbish. I didn't watch it cos there was no room on the sofa, b'stard visitors.

I actually watched it at cinema last week. Didn't realise it was out on netflix at same time. Loved it, wasn't what I was expecting at all as I went to see it on a whim and hadn't heard anything about it before hand.

Thanks for the quick review. Been fifty fifty on wether to give it a watch. Casting looks greatm

Enjoyed it and thought it was very clever, could tell it was directed by same bloke as who did The Big Short. However, maybe wasn't the best family film to watch on Xmas eve.

It was just 'OK'
Streep's character is just how I imagine Trump.
Not a film I'd go back to.

I'll probably give it a go at some point. I liked the trailer.

I thought it was watchable but that’s it . I thought it wasn’t sure what it wanted to be. It certainly wasnt comedy unless that’s how the US do satire , but it was certainly a solid 3/5

If you've got kids (scratch that even if you don't), Ron's Gone Wrong is definitely worth a watch on Disney+, it's brilliantly funny. Encanto is also a really good film on the same service. Animation is absolutely superb.
Ta for the recommendations. Done Ron. On Encanto and enjoying it.

I'm really enjoying the different stories Disney are telling recently exploring different cultures. Yes it's not as hardcore as something you could see on Netflix for example but for kids they've been a great way to open their eyes to the wider world and all it has to offer.

Ta. There is a 60 something year old kid watching these 2. If you find anything else on Disney that you think is good please let me (and others) know.

Decent but disappointing considering the cast involved. From that lot I'd expect a 10/10.

The message was loud and clear but a bit too obvious and there just wasn't enough comedy. Nothing subtle or clever, the sort of analogy you get from someone arguing their point in an internet debate but dragged out for 2.5 his. It was at least entertaining and some of the performances were very good but I think they could have pushed a bit more laugh out loud moments. Won't be rushing to watch it again. 6/10

Watched it last night and thought it was very good.

It's so on point at times it's literally cringe worthy as you just know that the government and media could actually respond as is outlined in the film. It could almost be a documentary at times.

Scarily accurate, great performances (particularly DiCaprio. Is there nothing he can't do?), excellent direction and just the right length. 8/10 for me.

Watched it last night, was on a bit too long I think. Could’ve been sub 2 hours easily.

Thought Jonah Hill’s character (obviously suppose to be Donald Trump junior) was the best out of them all. The very end scene summed up exactly what would happen to someone like him as well.

Glad I didn’t watch it on Christmas Day mind, not very Christmassy 😂
