Donald Trump has paid no income tax for 10 of the last 15 years

Always happy to make my contributions to the society that made me - the NHS which delivered me and my children, the schools which educated us, the roads we travel on, the emergency services who help us all in our greatest hour of need and the (now depleted) system which props us up in times of struggle.

Trolling? Are you f*cking for real? I can safely say you've obviously never struggled.

I actually do work within the public sector... A vastly underpaid and over worker sector at that.

I have not once said tax should not exist I've simply said there is times where I wish I didn't need to and would gat away from it if I could. If you have never had a time of financial struggle then you're a very very fortunate person.

Get down off your high horses.
I've had more financial struggles than I suspect you could dream of. I'm happy to pay my way without the use of a high horse. It's just an outlook.

I've struggled, you know nothing of my life, but at no time did I think it would be reasonable for me to avoid paying towards the running of this country in the same way as the vast majority of those around me.
You on the other hand think it reasonable to avoid doing this.

I'm sure everyone has looked at their payslip and thought "having that tax back would be nice" from time to time... it doesn't mean that they want to abolish tax or that they think tax is bad, just that a bit of extra money would come in handy. Why is everyone so up for an argument over nothing these days.

I can honestly say I haven't, even when broke and worse. I think the issue people have is to do with someone looking up to and admiring a rich criminal.

You must all have more money than you know what to do with if you've never thought oh I could do without paying all that tax when you see your payslip.

I wish I was as wealthy as all of you.

If you lived in any other era you would be paying a lot more tax. Income tax is the lowest its ever been. Its not that longggg ago (30-40 years) it was nigh on double what it is now.

I've looked, and both when living in the UK and the US (where I paid even more tax), and thought "all that tax and there's still people dying on the streets, people unable to feed themselves or their children and the roads are full of potholes - what the hell are they spending the money on".

Sorry are you saying that because someone has, at some point, thought it would be nice not to have to pay tax then that means they look up to people like Donald Trump?

If your poorly paid i doubt your paying that much tax anyway. But as I said on another thread it seems the more money you have the more you want, and want to hoard as much as possible.
There's no pockets in a shroud as someone once said.

Your spot on there Jam about the more money some people have it seems their greed grows at the same rates as their bank balance. Its like they have this big pile of money that they need to protect at all costs they get more & more paranoid the more they have that someone is going to come along & steal it away from them.

I honestly don't look at what I'm paying in tax, I don't think of it as my own money when I look at my own payslip.

I don't agree with what you say about how everyone would pay less tax if they could, but I would say that for those not on PAYE who have accountants doing their books I can understand why people do pay less if they can get away with it within the law. And in fairness, that's not their fault, its the system's.

Its absolutely true though that Trump's supporters won't be remotely bothered by this and, if anything, see it as a bloke 'winning' which they admire. His supporters are never going to be swayed against him by things they'd do themselves, they admire him for it.
