Donald Trump has addressed Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris in November’s presidential race by announcing his hatred of the pop star.
The former president and Republican nominee wrote on Sunday on his Truth Social platform: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
 
I know American politics is ludicrously polarised, and I know the bloke is an idiot, but it does seem to me to be a terrible state of affairs that we are now so inured to this that we think it is a fit subject for jokes. It’s fatuous but true nonetheless to say that either murdering the politician you don’t like is never acceptable or it is always acceptable. I know which world I would rather live in. Even those who argue that there must be some who are bad enough to justify it have to argue against the message of history that assassination more often than not produces something worse. The state of US politics is not a cause for amusement.

It's not acceptable.

But I genuinely don't believe somebody has actually tried to assassinate him here, I think it's an act to try and recover a badly faltering campaign.

No one in their right mind would joke about an attempted assassination but this could be anything.

Contemplate this: Trump and more particularly some of his goons have consistently sought to diminish a number of mass shootings as they fear gun control. In some cases they have even suggested that the events in question were faked. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to lose a child such violent circumstances but then to have a bunch of grifters suggest it never happened......words fail me.
Now it looks like a couple of loons toting freely available firearms have loosed off nearby and ruined his round of golf......"as ye sow so shall ye reap".
