Does anyone on here want the Geordies to win today?

our own manager is a Geordie, and Kevin Richardson (a geordie) lifted plenty of cups, as have others- so 'seeing a geordie lift a cup' is a nonsense line.

My hatred for Newcastle is not pretend. Years of having child abuse songs directed at us for 90 mins doesn't really make you like the club.
 
I'm not sure either way. It sort of feels that with enough Saudi money they'll eventually win something soon. Shearer will be unbearable on MotD though.

They likely will, but this is early enough that fans can try and claim that it's not because of Saudi blood money.

Plenty of that squad are from the Ashley era.

If they win in a few years, so be it, but I want there to be no doubt about exactly why they're winning things.
 
I'm not arsed now tbh. They'll win some stuff now they've all that blood money. Just accept it. Even if it's not today.
 
I understand the painful likely media love-in if the Geordies do win the cup, but whatever happens we were the first North East club to win it. I would much rather watch our team in Championship at the moment with Michael Carrick than Newcastle playing dull football under boring Eddie Howe.
However my son is at Wembley today supporting them, as he did for us when we drew with Leicester and also when we lost to Norwich, and for family reasons I hope that he sees them win a Cup.
I have sent him a picture of my Avatar to remind him that we won it first though😉
 
I’ve said I want to see all the north east teams doing well.. after seeing cars with black and white scarfs streaming down the A66 and hearing daft delusional Geordies last night in town..

Reminds me of a story a bloke I knew once told me as he worked on it when it was being built in Hartlepool as a welder and they saw a look north report that described it as a great symbol of geordie workmanship and industry.

So one of the lads peed off by this the night before it went out and welded the words

“Built by grafters not geordies.”

On it’s head.
 
Relatively indifferent. Have lived in Newcastle or is surroundings for the best part of 30 years and married to a Geordie so obvious affection for the place, but that doesn't extend to the team and no one in our house supports them.

On a purely practical level, daughter has to get a metro back through town early evening today, and given their track record in previous finals, that could get pretty unpleasant if they lose. That's about as close to wishing for a Newcastle win as you'll get out of me though.

Form wise, this is about as hard a final as they could have though, so I'm not confident of a Newcastle win.
 
No, I do not want them to win for the simple reason that I can't be doing with the sportswashing teams, any of them. I've always quite liked Man Utd mainly because of George Best in the olden days and latterly Marcus Rashford, who has done some good things both on and off the pitch, but if they get bought by Qatar that'll be the end of that as far as I'm concerned.
