Doak back for Tuesday?

Doak back, Howson starts and Forss an option from the bench hopefully.
If so my team would be this

Dieng

Dijksteel
Ayling
Edmundson
Borges

Howson
Morris

Doak
Azaz
McGree

Conway

Agree with other posters that Aylings best form this season has been at CB and i don't think Clarke and Edmundson should both be in the team after that. Dijksteel deserves to start again too, hasn't really had a bad game when he has played.

Carrick said it was more of a fatigue thing and wanting to protect him however then mentioned something about his hamstring.

Said he should only be out for a few days so hopefully he'll be back Tuesday night.

A fatigue thing.. and a tight hamstring thing.

How tight? He missed some games last season apparently.

I don't think playing Ayling at centre half is a good thing he is struggling to play at right back his actual position it would be madness, especially when we have actual centre half's available Clarke and hopefully Fry to partner Edmondson
Clarke and Edmo did not work one bit sadly. Fry is probably just going through the sit on the bench phase for 5 games with no intention of him playing.

Ayling has done well at CB tbh.

Can't remember if it was just the Stoke game he played CB or not but they offered nothing going forward so hard to judge if he was decent or not but just think he is struggling atm seems really uncomfortable on the ball and his passing is poor

Ayling is dogsh*t at centre back. He has been a bad right back this season, he needs to get himself up to speed in his own position before he’s asked to play somewhere else. If Fry is fit enough to be on the bench he’s fit enough to play. If he isn’t then he isn’t, don’t put him on the bench and not bring him on.

Got a gut feeling he was rested today. Young lad playing 8 games on the run in a short space of time and International games .... If so I wonder what Doak thought about it ... Jones was woeful as well

I got the feeling Carrick was hinting towards that. He said it was more of a fatigue issue and that he wanted to protect him after he'd played 8 games in a row but then mentioned something about his hamstring. I remember thinking well it can't be both of those things.

IMO Fry won’t fit our playing style at all, as he is very poor with distribution. We are already gifting goals as it is and that is only likely to get worse with him in there.

Granted, he is a good defender but Carrick is asking for more than that.

If Doak not fit for Tuesday would like to see Conway play on right and latte latte play up top. Jones is playing terrible. Would stick with Clarke and Edmundson on Tuesday and possibly Diksteel on the right.
