Do you think we might actually try

..to outplay Barnsley tomorrow.

they’re clearly trying to change their style to a less direct one (which worked well for them last year).

Will Warnock see this as an opportunity to turn this into a physical battle, in his preferred manner, or do we take this opportunity to play through our midfield and start to develop a style of football we can refine as the season progresses?

I think it will be business as usual. I'll be surprised if we see anything particularly different all season, but who knows!

I fear we will bring Peltier back (fit again) and drop Payero. We might still win but it will be dreadful to watch.

Season already over. Depressing isn't it...
He already said he's glad Peltier's back.......

There has to be a tipping point, though, surely. Warnock must see a chance for his legacy to be “successful transition of Boro to progressive football club” rather than “saved Boro from relegation to League 1…twice”

The Barnsley v Boro game at the end of last season was one of the worst games I've ever witnessed. That's some achievement 😂

I don't think either team needed a midfield. Just lumping it forward and CBs heading it away. It was as bad as it gets (I imagine Cardiff on Saturday will be no better).

The former gaffer has taken that style with him to WBA. They are doing well but fans moaning about how direct they are.

It is pretty much a year ago when the season really was over as football grounds were closed down to supporters. Now that was depressing. Season 20/21 was over for fans before it even properly began.

That's true, albeit only for perspective. We shouldn't just be happy with any football v no football, surely.

As a club, we need to step forward and improve the club, in order to get ahead of our competition. Bretford is the latest example of what can be achieved with vision and philosophy/culture. Our DOF seems to be trying to recruit players who can play. Surely the club's vision is to improve our style/recruitment/culture. If that's the case, the manager's role is to enable that to happen.

Oh it's all relative for sure, but I am heartily sick of the NW bonhomie whilst merrily chucking blame around like confetti at a wedding. We got flashes of what Payero can do on Saturday and his passion was clear when he got the assist for Josh but as soon as one of Neil's chosen men is available I fear that his efforts will be discounted and we're back to "Warnock Ball"

We haven't the players to get embroiled in a kicking match if it's a pure physical battle we will lose. To borrow Warnocks chocolate analogy we are soft centres

I don't think the team have played Warnock ball at all this season we have been far from direct or long ball. I think it's just a lazy soundbite. We have played plenty of passing football but we haven't got it right at both ends

Serious questions need to be asked if he drops Payero.

Well he dropped Jones who was our best player, which sits alongside Pullis not playing Bamford for bewilderment.

I'm not a football manager but surely a basic principle is to play your best players in their best positions for as long as you can, but maybe I missing something.

We have had short periods during matches where we played some football on the ground, but most of the time, the ball has bypassed what little midfield we have had or the opposition have had the ball.

Try being positive for once in your life 😡
The only thing that's depressing is you.😡
A win tomorrow and we are back in the mix👍🎃
