Do you think this shirt backlash will result in an official statement ?….

The kits are absolutely fine for any normal season, they're nowhere near as bad as being made out. However, I do get the sentiment that a unique heritage design over the standard Castore templates could've been used for at least one of them. That is a missed opportunity.

I can’t wait for the club to announce that we’re selling Aiden Morris to Southampton for £5m.

At least then everyone will have something worthwhile to whinge about!

If we sell Morris I think most of us will follow Kim out of the front door.

Its a huge commercial own goal which will cost the club a lot of money
Will be interesting if this turns out to be true.

It might be a all news is good news.

I actually now know multiple people that have pre-ordered because they heard about the backlash and then liked them. (It probably inspired me to get one straight away - think I would have waited if it was not so front and centre in my mind)

You’re not hinting that fans might not show up to watch the team play because they don’t like the shirt they’ll be wearing are you?

If so I think a few need to step away from their keyboards and have a breather, some of the reaction on here is starting to border on the ridiculous.
No I'm not. What a ludicrous way to read my post. I'm suggesting there will be fewer worn as there will have been fewer bought.

Hardly ludicrous. Your post said ‘let’s see how many are in the ground’ not ‘how many people are wearing the new shirts’. Quite easy to misinterpret if that’s what it was. Others read it the same as well.

Are you suggesting people will boycott matches because the shirt is bad? 😂
No clearly not. Ludicrous take. There will be less bought and on show.

Some of the overreaction of the 'club can do no wrong' guys to the overreaction of the people who don't like the kit is frightening.

Really? You really thought the shirts were bad enough for people to boycot the game?

The primary objective of this kit launch seems to be.. not to lose money. Spend as little as possible on stock, buy the cheapest templates., and hope for the best.

Worst kits since..

and those don’t look as bad in comparison.

Biggest dial in since..

All a matter of taste but I quite like them
Will be getting the red and Blue ones.
I don't s33 anybody forcing you to buy them.
Just wear your preferred old shirt instead.
I think we're in for a whingefest season if this pre season is anything to go by.
Seems to me people looking for any reason to slag the club off as some sort of sad way to assuage their disappointment at last season.
Just get behind the team or don't bother, getting bored with with all this negative, entitled twaddle coming from some.
Not liking the kit means you are not getting behind the team? When did we become a communist state?

Where have I said that?

I and couple of others have commented off the wording of your post, which could be interpreted one way, clearly you meant it another. No biggie.

For what it’s worth it’s a shirt and I couldn’t really care less what it looks like. There’ll be another one next year and no doubt some people will like that one, and others won’t.

It's a kit. A crap kit. But to actually think that anyone would think it would impact people going to the game....
If its any consolation, I've bought the white one for my lad. It's the least crap and he likes having a new shirt.

I think your right we dont seem to think its a revenue generator like the great unwashed up the road. Hypothetically if we came up with a fantastic design for our 150th season and say demand doubled for these shirts , we would never have the stock levels to make a killing. The whole merch side of the club is amateurish you only have to look at the club shop to see that

I can't see it. It won't achieve anything or change the outcome.

They will clearly know that it's gone down like a lead balloon. I've even seen none Boro fan posts taking the p*ss out of it on social media.. Especially the PNE and Oxford kits😂

It's been a massive disaster. I'm still stunned someone designed (used loosely) and signed off on these. It must have gone through various vetting processes over a number of months.

They look cheap. The sponsor is horrific. I genuinely had to check a few times that they were genuine shirts and not some spoof done through AI.

Oh well. Always next year. No doubt the band will be back....again.

My take on this is that the club have, ill advisedly, assumed that quantity is more fitting marker of the anniversary than quality.

Have we ever had four shirts in a given season before?

It does feel like the point of differentiation is the fourth shirt, regardless of design, rather than the designs themselves.

Fwiw, Im also not particularly bowled over by the designs.
