Do you feel sorry for Woodgate?

We know he’s doing his best, and he’s just finding his feet in this position. However I’ve been employed before in jobs where I wasn’t suited to the role, lacked support and the results were crap. It’s an unhappy time.

I really wish he can turn it round, I just don’t see it happening. We’re back to Blind faith again

No, he shouldn't have taken the job on.

He must have known what a difficult job it was going to be, and that nobody wanted him to get the job.

I bet you weren’t in a position where you could quit working tomorrow though and still be financially secure for the rest of your life.

He’s a fraud and a charlatan. Can’t blame him for taking the job, but no way do I fee sorry for him. He’s making bad decision after bad decision. Worst of all is that we could all see this happening a year ago.

Nope. He stumbled across a winning line up when injuries forced his hand, accidentally managed to get Howson playing his best football since arriving, at centre back, gave two gems a chance in Coulson and Spence and they were an integral part of a winning line up.
Then he completely abandoned it all, ditched the successful youth who had driven the winning streak, started calling out bad attitudes of young players in the media and presided over a losing run that included a pathetic 1 point from the bottom 3 teams and some of the most pathetic performances seen in years.
No sympathy at all.
It’s painfully frustrating watching him select his teams and set us up week after week, when he’d already been handed the winning blueprint through injuries forcing his hand only a few months ago. Too stubborn, arrogant or stupid to go back to that winning team. Get shot. No sympathy here whatsoever.

You’re right, I wasn’t

I assume every week the MFC board meet to discuss the football side of operations. That must include the manager. Would it not become obvious that the rookie managerial team is struggling.

Not really. I don't for one minute think he went into this season thinking he'd landed a great job. Boro connection aside, he was given a crappy hand and ultimately he's proving that he might not even be able to achieve survival which many fans would have deemed a success.
If we are relegated as I suspect will be the case, and Gibson lets him go then he might think back and realise that he's ruined his managerial career and the best he can ever do is manage in the lower leagues.

This is the thing I ponder every day. These people are knowledgeable so why can't they see there are huge problems here? Do they just hope things get sorted? Makes the whole club so amateurish.

No, he is an **** (outside of football) had he been managing any other team i would be gloating that he got what he deserves. Unfortunately he is managing us.

He was never a leader on the pitch, how can he be a leader off it? On top of that you have all the other roles, it’s a complex and difficult job. He’s not intelligent enough to realise he was in no way ready for this job. If he has aspirations to be a manager he should have learned his stripes far down the leagues.

It’s been a disaster and it was predicted by most fans. A few gave him the benefit of doubt but I think that was more in hope than any real confidence in his ability.

I don’t feel sorry for him at all, his stupidity in thinking he could do a job that is miles beyond any limited ability he might have, will see the club in the third division next season.

I honestly believe we are as good as down.

I feel for the bloke: hes been put between a rock and a hard place. The one to take responsibility is the Chairman who is getting a name for himself making poor decisions.

Agree with most of this, but can you blame him for accepting the job when offered?

Great post Sir. Exactly what I, and MANY others have been thinking for a long time now...

Apparently he’s going to “look at himself over the next 24 hours”. Not sure what that means, but knowing him he’s probably going to spend all day tomorrow stood in front of a mirror.

I got criticised for calling it a terrible appointment, but it was and still is. He’s not a manager, he’s a human shield there to take the flack for Steve Gibson who continues to run this football club into the ground.

He’s easily the worst manager we have ever had (and I include Agnew). Not an ounce of tactical knowledge, doesn’t inspire, doesn’t motivate, his selections are terrible. He came out tonight and said the difference between tonight and the last two games was “light and day” seriously unintelligent.

He’s just a usual idiot for Steve Gibson to control. He’s got to go tonight or I think we’ll be playing in league one next season.

Not at all. Obviously he should never have been given the job - most would agree with that. However the longer he remains, the larger my dislike, to put it very mildly.
