Do I own my Sky dish?

I binned sky and sent sky Q back over a year ago. I still have my dish and they've never asked for it. It never even came up in conversation.

I actually used it with Freesat for a few months. Just plugged the sky leads from the dish straight into the Freesat box.

Note on sky Q box. Keep the recorded delivery receipt when you post everything back. I heard nothing for months. Then they sent me an email stating I had a week to return everything or I'd be billed. I'd sent it back over 6 weeks ago. They denied receiving it.

Fortunately I'd kept the receipt and checked tracking details and it had arrived at sky and been signed for. Dropped the threat instantly. A classic 'sorry we've made a mistake'. Cheeky f*ckers trying to get £300 odd quid out of me🙄
I had to tell them it was sent back as they deducted the charges me . It was spurred immediately no receipt was needed but kept ut a way just in case

I googled it after it happened to me. It appears to happen regularly. The return box is pre paid gets a tracking number once posted. So absolute cheek to try and claim it didn't arrive. Especially as I had been with them nearly 20 years.

I'm glad it was easily sorted with you. I did wonder if I'd have had a leg to stand on if I'd not kept the proof of postage.

They have never asked for the dish back - the bulk/value ratio has never made it viable.

They are trying move people onto Sky Glass which comes from broadband. They had a £19/month offer for a new Sky Glass TV and basic Sky package.

Dangerous though isn't it, if they own your telly you're going to find it hard to ever leave.
