Djed _ Highly sought after

I suppose at the end of the day I’d all this gossip isn’t true it will ultimately get forest to cough up more cash on the summer

Have you missed something.? Yes you have missed the fact that cash rich Premier League clubs are willing to pay silly money for average players, sometimes with little or no experience in this country.

I dont even think that much. I'd say he's missed the fact that journalists make up numbers and teams with little or no substance based on what they saw on telly at the weekend.

As we've renegotiated the deal with Forest and got more money off them, I am sure that there are conditions that also work in Forest's favour. One possibly is that he cannot be recalled and sold before end of season, I think we may have to wait for concrete news, rather than paper talk due to his good performance on the TV.

If we don't go up, then we have to sell him due to Jones as we can't afford to reject £10M (or even £5M) cash in hand for a 2nd choice player due to fair play and just general common sense!

I think it's highly unlikely that we wouldn't be able to sell him whilst he's at forest.

If it did happen he's be loaned back there anyway, given he's already played for two clubs.

Either way it's a win/win for us.

I can understand the links to Italy, as a lot of them play with wing backs.

can’t see him going to Arsenal though. He’s never a full back, never mind a top end of the premier league one

I've said it before but it's win/win for us.

If keeps playing well he comes back here rejuvenated ready to do the same for us

Or

We get a big paycheck for a player nowhere near as good or as productive as our current RWB

I think this is highly relevant.
Isaiah has 7 assists and 1 goals from 24 league appearances,
Djed Spence has one goal and zero assists.

They both play right wing back for teams in similar league positions.
Forest have scored and conceded a bit more than Boro. Spence hasn't contributed to the scoring side and they have conceded more than us.
He may have done well for Forest - increasing his fee to whoever - but Isaiah Jones has done much much better and I would far rather have him at our club.

Most of my friends and work colleagues that are very into football have no knowledge of the championship at all. They see some stats, occasional highlights, televised FA cup games against the big teams and hear snippets of "he's supposed to be good him" based on those things. Journalists these days are the same except they have the opportunity to then write an article saying "Arsenal after highly rated x, rivals Inter etc are after him, current club Forest will be priced out". Sometimes they'll get asked to push the story by an agent for the exposure and that's just marketing. It's really easy content but it's meaningless. It's very different from those clubs actually being interested and if they are it doesn't mean they are willing to spend big. If Arsenal and Forest want him then Arsenal would get him for the same fee as Forest because why would he choose Forest over Arsenal.

I'm sorry but it's not hype, he's been excellent at Forest, even before the cup game.

He's a talented lad who is capable of playing PL football, if he can apply himself that is.
I agree it isn't hype there's a decent player there but his attitude has to be questioned his head was turned under Woodgate after rumours of Tottenhams interest & I would imagine it carried over to Warnocks time here.

He's wanted away since so lets get what we can for him.

Gonna upset the forest fans who have all been crowing he will be playing there next season

It keeps rolling - get the impression footi agents are pushing this.
If there is a grain of truth in it, we will have a good sell-on clause and do well out of his sale in the summer(y)

⚽

Couple of big IFs in this but can anyone answer this:

If both Boro and Forest get into the play offs and meet each other I assume Djed is still not eligible to play unless we've sold him and the buyers loan him out to Forest.

A January sale and loan back to Forest with rider that he can't play against us in Play offs would be a significant FFP boost for the year to June 2022.

Reminds me of karanka getting a big chunk of funding through the sales of jutkewitz and emnes. Two players who flattered to deceive at Boro, but got we got decent fees from premier league teams for the both of them.

Why won't we - the lad is class and will go on to better things, unfortunately we did not get to see him in a Chris Wilder Boro.

Not fit to lace Jones' boots right now, probably our most exciting player since Traore.

Either we'd have shunted one of them on to the left, or he's on the bench.

He’s not good enough to get in our team. So if we sell for the prices quoted we are absolutely laughing
