Disappointing Film Endings

Recently the ending of Joker disappointed me. It was still a very good film but I didn't enjoy the fact that they left it ambiguous as to whether the events actually happened or if they were just his deranged fantasies.

It was banned in several US states for that very reason.
In the end , money has no real value, the things in life that are truly valueable can not be bought… so Potter stole nothing and gained nothing, George gained everything.
Doesn’t sit well with the American Dream, hence the bans.

I suppose it's technically not an ending as much as the second half of the film, but Full Metal Jacket went down hill as soon as they went to Vietnam.

The boot camp part of the film is just so good that it holds up.

I watched tennet the other day..

I'm not saying 'disappointed' but definitely WTF? 😂. I even read an online explanation in simple form and still didn't get it.

Left field choice, but Resident Evil. Maybe not strictly speaking an ending, but like full metal jacket, kind of a film of two halves.

Seem to remember the first hour or so being surprisingly good, no zombies to be seen, but cranked up the tension brilliantly. Once the monsters showed up, got a bit silly. Can probably say the same for a lot of horror movies, but that's the one that springs to mind for some reason.

Thought Django Unchained was a disappointing ending too. Just a bit OTT for me.

No country for old men.

Not sure if it was a disappointing ending or just that I was disappointed that it ended. 🤕

I've still never actually seen that film. Really wanted to see it, liked the write up, love the Coen Brothers, and went to the cinema with my girlfriend to see it upon release.

Stupidly when I got to the cinema I thought the film was called There Will Be Blood, and so we paid and went in to see that, I then realised my mistake after the first 10 minutes or so. Now, There Will Be Blood is a good film too, but its slower than the digestive system of a sloth and not exactly cracking date film fare.

I'm sure I'll get to see No Country for Old Men one day, hopefully it's worth the wait!

Tha Shawshank Redemption.

It's just so wishy washy with a nice cozy ending after such a brutal film. It would have been better had he reached the tree, opened the box and a found a confession from Andy that he had in fact killed his wife. That would have been a much more interesting ending.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

utter nonsense
Never got past the disappointing start, the disappointing middle...

Actually fell asleep the only time I tried to watch it (a rainy Sunday afternoon as I recall)

For a half decent film ruined by a preposterous ending. Superman (the original Christopher Reeve one) where Lois is dead so to save her he flies backwards round the earth to jump back in time to save her. Just ridiculous on so many levels.

The original cancel culture from the capitalists!

My first thought on this was Spielberg's A.I. Started off really strong, then went a bit meh but just about watchable, then saccharin sweet ending. If I knew about the ending I definitely wouldn't have sat through the rest.
