Did we go up a year too late under karanka

The point is that unlike Dyche, Karanka's strengths didn't lie in his man management. He didn't handle the stress of the role well either. I just don't see how Karanka staying would've made any positive difference. When he was sacked we were crying out for a short term, avoid-relegation specialist.

Disagree, I would 100% have kept him on. Look at the decisions and appointments since him. Look at win ratios at this level. Looks at crowds, look at the apathy.

Yes... very true but sadly we got Agnew the man that puts out the cones for Steve Bruce who has since gone back to come duty at Newcastle.

ironically (coming from me) the man we should have got for that short term job was tony Pullis yes I said it.

he was at WBA at the time otherwise yes , it’s a Pulis job allover

I am a pro Karanka person appreciating what Gibson has done for us. See the Gibson interview thread for details. I may disagree with some things Gibson says or does. However he still gets my support.

Respect your opinion. I just don't think it's right. Just because things have gone wrong since mid-way through Karanka's tenure, it doesn't mean keeping him on was the right thing to do.

Oh I couldn’t remember but if not pullis someone if that Ilk, as the Agnew appointment was an insult to the players and the fans and I still say a huge White flag to the rest of the prem. we simply gave up and appointing Agnew just solidified that.

could you imagine any other club in our position in the poem appointing him ( would Newcastle If Bruce left - no chance.

Regarding dimi I think a lot refer to giving him that final game in the prem we were down guzan was off any way so what harm would it have done. He deserved that at least.

100% he did. Then at least he'd have had "Premier League player" on his football CV, which would have been nice.

Anyone changed there feeling on Gibbo and Karanka since February?

I think Gibbo has definitely increased his stock with the fanbase, probably go up another level if he revamps the Gary Gil department, not by appointing Woody (as it said on Wiki the other day) though!
