Did Greenwood actually have a Slaven-type strop on today?

We had 7 or 8 players with years of experience and hundreds of appearances playing yesterday. Do we blame them for the lacklustre performance?
Nah, let's blame the young lads who've started a few dozen games each at this level. 🙄

I think he's *****. He is a rubbish striker being played left wing because he doesn't have the strength or pace to play up front on his own. In any of the positions behind the striker he's massively ineffectual. He's rubbish with the ball, makes the wrong decision almost every time, poor passer, holds on to the ball far too long, dribbles into dead ends and loses the ball. He occasionally gets in the right place at the right time to score the odd goal and his free kick against Leicester was great but I don't think those moments are enough to justify his inclusion.

Happy to see this post blow up in my face but I just don't see it with him. He's technically a good footballer so he could be good but no pace, strength or decision making lets him down.

Ok, I'll offer the alternative view.
A 21 year old comes into a team rock bottom of the league, in abysmal form, morale of the team extremely low. Scores important goals, two or three assists. Team wins 8 out of the next 10 games he starts in. Then the team has an extraordinarily bad run of luck with injuries, coinciding with a tough run of fixtures. Unsurprisingly we lose a couple of games with probably 7 or 8 first choice players out.
Let's completely ignore all the good things he's done and the fact he was a vital part of our quite miraculous turnaround, ignore the fact several other much more experienced players have been equally poor recently, ignore the fact he's playing in a severely weakened team and make the highly constructive comment -he's s****. 🙄

The most baffling thing was his refusal to put in a cross into the box in the first half when he was in a good position on the right hand side. Instead cutting it back into the centre outside of the box. It's a frustrating part of our play, refusal to go for the jugular and put in a dangerous ball. We missed Jones yesterday.

He was poor today for sure, I think he's curently one of those players who will have 9/10 game every 7 or 8 games, rest of the time he will be a 5 or 6/10 but will pop up with a 'moment' in the game, then he will just have stinker or two. He's young and like all young players will find some consistency.
His problem I think is he still see's himself as a 9, so just in the last third is just thinking how he can score, which leads to rubbish decisions, he needs to accept his role in the team is to be a creative link player, he will score a few because he's a good finisher and does get himself in scoring positions, but he needs to get his assists and key passes to level where he's a first choice pick, with everyone fit, he's making the bench every week for me, not in the team.

it was just a poor performance i dont think anything needs to be deeper than that

also i suspect we're signing him in january and thats why theres lot of links with him to the premiership
