Des last night was it sponsored by British tobacco

This may come as a shock to you but Dambusters was real. The dog's name was real. Titanic was also real. Well, just the drawing Kate Winslet naked bit...The ship sinking thing was just poetic licence

I’m well aware what was real that’s partly why I mentioned it , not that it stopped it from being edited .

Hey guess what people used to smoke in public, it was not seen as a massive no no, i can remember working in pubs / going out and by the end of the night you could see the smoke cloud coming down from the the ceiling. depending on how busy it had been 2-4 foot deep.

Your clothes stank after one night out due to the reek of cigs, as a non smoker the ban on smoking indoors was a massive changer.

so many things have changed, the awareness of drink driving, younger generation have always seemed to avoid drink driving, more than older generation (mine).

Re Dambusters and N*****r the dog, yep it was real, crazy it gets taken out of the film now.
What's the saying about learning from history, do people watch 12 years a slave and think its a good story? Selma? it happened and the world changed. Unbelievable treatment of people purely based on colour.

I was watching the OF&H episode where Raquel has the baby. Rodney is in the corridor smoking. Hard to believe the ban only came in in 2006

In 2008 I was working in Geneva and they used to have a smoking room on the office floor - it looked so bizarre alongside all the other offices.
When back in the uk some of the older guys said that they used to smoke at their desk in the office no questions asked.
It’s funny to see how times have changed.

I used to love the smell of the smoke but hated the taste when I tried it for real - All I could hope for was to be a passive smoker at best

Re The Dambusters, n*****r was also the code word for a breach in one of the dams. A huge part of 20th century history!

Titanic film was almost a parody - cruel selfish British businessman (steel baron), pretty and clever young Americans outwitting him, poor Irish who love singing and dancing all day cruelly treated by inept British officers and sailors. I think the British business man had a Van Goth painting and thought little of it.
