Derby getting humped

Their fans were all over our club Twitter a couple of Fridays ago when we lost to Watford. It's all gone quiet ever since then.

If they sacked their manager, I guess Rooney would be the obvious choice to take over.

That must make for a weird dressing room dynamic:
Does Rooney want the job? If so, is he giving his all for the man standing in his way?
Does Cocu look at him and think: here is the man who could save my job or take my job?

I suspect Rooney is already more powerful than the manager, and that is never healthy.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer club.

Been on their forum earlier and they reckon it’ll cost a bomb to sack Cocu and team and start again . Apparently couple of key players to come back in

Rooney as Derby manager would be an amazing car crash to watch.

5 A bent owner
4 Conceded goals
3 Drunk drivers
2 Failed audits
and a ground which you sell to Mel

A lot of their fans feel Rooney should be dropped as a few times already this season he has been at fault for goals. Problem is that as his wages are "covered" by a certain betting company, as part of that payment deal, he has to play a certain amount of games. No idea how true but makes sense. The club is selling its soul and most of the fans are oblivious to it.

Just don't like them.
We obviously don't get to see half the things that go on 'behind the scenes' in football. But I reckon salaries and transfer fees have been bigged up by clubs like Forest & Derby in recent years. Just look at the Waghorn transfer saga. I imagine this was just one of a number of incidents that 'broke the camels back' for Gibson. Thus the whistle blowing unorthodox financial behaviour.
Even now Sheff Wed are linked with Kenneth Zahore on £40k per week contract - 9 point deduction not enough?????

Maybe fate will step in and results will continue as they are . As finances nose dive for all clubs their situation is worse with the owners choice to refinance the stadium.

When most clubs have been around for over a century should any of us have a mortgage? Especially those that have had premier league earnings . Maybe a different story for those who have built £1b pound stadiums but those will have additional income.

Quote from the Derby Telegraph indicates the EFL decisions are effecting the spending and "finances".

The last time Derby lost their first three league fixtures was in 1992/93.

Skipper Wayne Rooney told RamsTV after the final whistle on Saturday: "I can’t make any excuses for today; it wasn’t good enough and all I can say is we will work hard to put it right.”

And boss Cocu was also left fielding some tricky questions in his post-match press conference.

He said: “We are restructuring a lot within the club, also the financial part of the first-team environment, that's part of making the challenge bigger but I am sure if we have the team complete with maybe one or two incoming players, hopefully, I am convinced in the long run we will be in a much better position

"But for now it is tough.

"We couldn't do early in the season stuff due to reasons, the EFL. Then when we could do, bit by bit, you always try to have the team complete.

"No excuse this, because again this is an attitude problem, nothing to do with new players or finances, but it makes the pathway, the road we take, a challenge but we still move forward and work everyday to make it happen."

It is too early to start writing teams off. Derby had a bad start to the season last year and at one point it looked like they could grab a play-off place.

Plenty of points to play for yet.
