Derby fans singing about Having a party when Steve Gibson dies

I lifted this from the Derby County forum

"My biggest problem personally this week has been with Gibson and Couhig.
Yes I know Mel is culpable but that’s for a later date, the immediate problem is those two. I have this deep, gnawing sense of injustice. That they can stop us getting this mess sorted. I have no answer to it and it really infuriates me, maybe those with less life experience think their way to relieve themselves of this is to publicly wish their death."

I don't agree with the chant and from reading the DCFC forum a fair few of them don't as well, this upcoming match has all the potential to be remembered for the wrong reasons, BOTH sets of fans are obsessed with each other at the moment, we have a massive match on Monday and a FA cup where we sold the tickets way faster than most people expected but the majority of chat has been about our clubs, the same for them they have their biggest match against their rivals and the majority have been taking about us and singing about us, it's still 3 weeks out and the backdrop is too high. The above statement from a relatively sensible Derby fan tells how we are all getting caught up in it. The club owners and the media need to do less talking to the press someone will get hurt badly coming from this raising of the emotional pitch.

Is there anywhere reliable that talks about the value of the claim at all? Is it confirmed anywhere?
Heard from multiple sources that it’s no where near £45m or any of the other claims. £3m for a play off final + semi final gate receipts, merch etc...

Regular posters on that forum have been openly joking about Gibson's death for weeks. I posted a screenshot of this comment in another thread and it's still not been removed, and the likes for it are going up. If they are claiming they are against this sort of thing now then they are just being hypocrites.
Or they are different posters with different morals.

Rooney's comments about how he found Mel Morris when he first took over at Derby speaks volumes. The big difference between a proper Chairman like Gibson and a chancer like Morris, who to this day couldn't give a toss about Derby. It's Morris who the Derby fans need to be directing their anger towards.

Well I would hope that the EFL ensures Derby meet their debts, certainly HMRC needs to ensure 100% of the multi millions they are owed is paid in full. Questions should be asked as to how HMRC lets such a debt grow.
The post earlier this week linking to radio Derby and the Wycombe chairman summed it up nicely, for the administrators to bring about resolution they need to be talking to all parties and get agreements on compensation, Derby deliberately did not reveal their accounts on time as they would have been relegated instead Wycombe went down. Our compensation talk of £45m is rubbish I think we will be lucky to get a figure that matches gate revenue for play off matches we missed.

One of the things that needs to be addressed is teams (Wolves or was it Villa) breaking financial fair play rules, but getting into the premiership means they cannot be fined by the EFL. I find it strange that there does not seem to be a lot of press coverage pointing the finger at the real culprit which is Morris.

I think WR has shown a lot of what a caring, honest person he is & has been through all this sorry mess

One person & one petson alone is to blame for all this turmoil & that is MM

Efl should do something about this...if it was homophobic or racist theyd be hell on. But then again mackems get away with the paedo stuff so dont hold your breath
Indeed. It will set a poor precedent if they don’t take action, when it’s in the public domain and faces can be identified and banned.

Dead right. All this talk of banners and songs about Mel Morris needs knocking on the head. If Derby fans want to demean themselves and show themselves up then that's up to them but lets not join in and make mugs of ourselves, rise above it.
I think there will be a heavy police presence because this has all the makings of a powder keg. We don't want to go back to the 70s and 80s.

Not good
Don’t give em any tickets! Let’s just sell out the riverside completely with boro fans!!

They argued Boro’s claim was stopping bids coming in. Then a bid came in.
I can understand that Derby fans are experiencing bunker mentality and that in the echo chamber of a football forum it becomes reinforced and magnified. This is preventing a lot of their good fans from seeing the truth but there is a visible timeline leading to this bid.

Firstly we had Gibson's open letter alluding to the fact that the administrators were dragging their feet.
Then on Friday's TalkSport, Simon Jordan stated that he personally knew of two serious bidders who were prepared to deal with MFC and WW outside of administration. He had also spoken personally to Gibson on the day the open letter was published.
On Saturday a bid dropped onto the DCFC doormat.

I have real sympathy for the vast majority of Derby fans but due to the situation they find themselves in many struggle to see the wood for the trees and on the rams forum they still refer to the real culprit Morris as Mel, the way that people who are having their benefits cut call Johnson Boris.

Not real fans.
Just horrible people.
There are real Derby fans out there who just want to see their team play football.
