Derby fans singing about Having a party when Steve Gibson dies

The venom and vitriol being stoked up does set the tone for our upcoming game. The heat needs to be taken out of this situation otherwise there could be a real chance of crowd disturbances and violence.
Dead right. All this talk of banners and songs about Mel Morris needs knocking on the head. If Derby fans want to demean themselves and show themselves up then that's up to them but lets not join in and make mugs of ourselves, rise above it.
I think there will be a heavy police presence because this has all the makings of a powder keg. We don't want to go back to the 70s and 80s.

Not good

It's all just sour grapes, we need to be the adults in this situation and rise above such playground stuff, because that's what it is. As already stated, we have our own share of numbnuts. These people crave attention, the best thing we can do is not give it to them.

Proves as I posted yesterday a small minority are horrible individuals, all clubs have them, the vast majority, like us & every club, including Derby, will be appaulled regarding this chant, lets not label them all with the same brush
Did you see the video Erimus? Hardly a “small minority“ at that session!

I think unfurling the Steve Gibson fit and proper banner would be enough. Says it all and supports our chairman.

derby wont be bringing big numbers to Boro - they couldnt sell all of their 2000 allocation for yesterdays game 12 miles away.

those that do turn up will be their usual mouse like timid fans, there wont be no demonstrations, no daft protests or witty or abusive banners from Derby.

as for yesterdays vocals - i wouldnt worry about it, its just a song, means not a lot, best ignored - worse has been sang over the years by Boro fans (harry roberts/ keegan keegan / death chant / what shall we do with a drunken geordie / teesside ambulance / your gonna get your F****n head kicked in / liverpool slums / and so on and so forth) and by fans of most clubs - socially distasteful.

if im around when Gibbo dies, i'll be having a wake - thats a party of sorts ! - my good friend died suddenly last weekend of November gone, we had a right party for him over 2 weekends, made t-shirts and everything

ive not watchd the derby video, did they get the verses in for Jelly & Ice cream, Pass the parcel and tail on a donkey ?

their song about Stan Collymore isnt very nice either, but again, its just a song sang at a football match - in bad taste, but thats about it.

dont get yer knickers in a twist.

Moronic, half-witted, but predictable.

There are a minority of fans like these at every club - including ours, sadly. We've also heard worse things sung at our ground by opposition fans.

This is not worth making a fuss over. It's doesn't make me want to see Derby liquidated, and I already wanted to see them (rightly) relegated anyway.

There are plenty of decent Derby fans too. They're not all like this pondlife.

The majority of Derby fans seem pretty rationale tbf, judgement being clouded a touch by the plight of their club, but I can understand that. All clubs have a minority of idiots who get excited and take things too far, especially after a few sherbets

Whilst I and others have proposed for the " Steve Gibson - Fit and Proper " banner to be used at the Derby game, I now don`t think it should.

We and I say we but in reality it`ll be Red Faction that do it if anyone, need to show our displeasure at the way football is being governed.

That`s not to say I want to see an anti-EFL banner but something along the lines of

" Our Clubs - The beating heart of our community and life "

Plenty of Derby fans signing the song on that video, it doesn't look like a minority. And, there's plenty of them defending the chant on their message board.

I understood that football is tribal and its always an us vs them situation but don't start asking for sympathy either. They deserve everything they get.

I know it wouldnt be a very popular view but personally I would limit the number of Derby fans going to the game significantly. I would worry that some of them want to be martyrs to the cause and start some disruption and damage.

I hope Im wrong but some of the stuff being said shows that rational emotion is running away from some.

Agree.
Strange how they’re being turned into the victims.
I mean, where even is Morris and when are they paying the taxman.

They’ve been limited I think. Just over 2000 available

When schitt like that goes down,
We have to rise above it and turn our energy to supporting honest ordinary fans like Carmen [DCFC Blondie]
- and all the other decent folk in the football family.
The scum will always rise to the top,
But they are the ones left clinging to the sides,
Hoping someone will come along and save them.
Forget the flotsam and jetsam and let it go back into the gutter where it belongs.
Schitt stinks but it gets washed away.
Dont waste our time getting angry or using up energy.
Support each other in times of need.
Shout from the rooftops with our flag and follow our team.
We are not here to give oxygen to scum.
Leave it behind.
Up The Mighty Boro!
That’s got to be Roofie’s most Roofiest ever post.
