Derby County in a relegation battle ?

I don't like 'em because of Mel Morris and the financial cheating.
For me the summer of 2018 was the straw that broke the camel's back for Gibson.
We were locked in a battle for Martyn Waghorn and the fee was going up and up.
They won and got him for about £7m and no doubt high wages.
I get the feeling that Gibson was by now getting sick of transfer fees and wages just going daft. Every time we went for a player we seemed to be outbid around about that time.
As it transpires Derby, Sheff Wed and others (Reading?) were winning these transfer battles by bending the rules.

All that money spent and yet look at the state of that squad - hilarious really.

Ive enjoyed my seemingly many 0 0 at coventry. But was there for slaven n speedys hat tricks. Liked highfield road. Wonder if them 3 in the baggy hats still go. Can not stand derby

Local games are always the games I look forward to, Sunderland firstly, then Newcastle and then Leeds. Im getting no joy S`lun struggling. Just like Pools and Darlo, Id love to see them back in the league. Derby and Coventry always enjoyed visiting them, more so the old grounds with character.

Nobody mentioned Pools, and Darlo.

As said both of our so called Derbies against Mackems and Geordies are dismissed by them.
Those horrible arrogant sods don’t even recognise Boro as a derby game.

So Stuff em!.

I have been to Derby away a few times too, Baseball Ground and the new place.
The first I recall was probably when Tommy Docherty was their boss.
We were marched down the middle of the street from the coach park, mebbe half a mile like prisoners of war.
Not allowed to go into any bars, chippy or shops.

Baseball ground Pitch was 4inches deep in mud and not a blade of grass on
it.
I think we got beat, a bad day.

Another time, in the 80’s Or 90’s I think when about 2500+ Boro fans Were squeezed into a standing area behind a goal at best fit for about 500.
I have never been so scared in all my life.
I was a big strong bloke trying to keep upright but there were small kids in there who had to be lifted high.

The police just kept ramming people in.
The police were a disgrace
How people were not killed I don’t know
Don’t like Derby me.
Yes remember those days in the 70's getting frog marched from the coach down boarded up streets, just for match days, to the Baseball ground, something I'd never seen before

Mind I loved the BG, small compact ground with a good atmosphere

1st time I went there with my yonger brother & dad we were winning 2-0 with goals from Craggs & Boam & ended up losing 3-2

We were winning that game, Craggs goal was beauty. I remember getting marched passed the RR grass lane, and amazing site of the top of the 3 tier stand full of RR workers who chucked their caps into the air when DC scored it was like a scene from the 30s.

When I think of Coventry I think 4-3 2 hatricks from slaven and speedie . One of our best games that seasons along with millwall and westham . We must of done the double over westham that season .

Unfortunately I can't see past Wycombe, Coventry & Sheff Weds for the bottom 3

Shame on both Wycombe who missed out on the automatic promotion a few years back, regrouped & comfortably went up with bigger teams left behind & Coventry, who been in the mire for a good few years now, well there fans will have been ecstatic with having something good happening to their club, only to see em go back down

I remember my dad taking me, my brother & a mate of ours to a league cup 2nd round 1st leg game, we won 1-0 with a Bosco goal, don't know why my dad picked a night match that distance away to travel between shifts too

That was the 1st ground I heard the tannoy making a crowd noise with Derby, Derby

I read on here that Barnsley were doomed just after we beat them.
Mind you, I reckon half the teams we beat will look like relegation fodder according to this forum. We aren't so good at giving ourselves credit.

I never thought Barnsley woukd have been relegated, surprised it was so close for them, I even said on here if we finish above Barnsley we'll stay up, I was that convinced they finish comfortably out of the bottom 3
