De Roon

Did a solid enough job for us, but I would put him down as lower half Premier League player. I have been a bit surprised he has done quite so well in Italy, but pleased for him.

Atlanta seem the Leicester of Italy.
 
We could do with him now. Just the type of player we need.
I don't see loads of negativity surrounding De roon. Didn't get to see us at all in the prem so I'm wondering if he was disliked in the stadium?
He didn't do brilliantly for us, nor was he dreadful. I think the problem is you've got the club transfer record going on a defensive midfielder when it was needed in the forward positions.

Leadbetter and Clayton were so far out of their depths that season it was untrue and neither player recovered from it. De Roon had to carry the central midfield that year.

I can't agree with that, Clayton (after a very very slow start) did well that PL season, he certainly held his own.
Leadbitter hardly played and when he did he wasn't fit.
