de Kock refuses to take the knee

What if the reason is VERY personal to him and his family. Many horrific crimes happen in that country, Maybe he does not want to state or divulge what happened to protect someone very close to him
What sort of horrific crime would lead to you not wanting to take the knee?

If you're upset with this, I would suggest you ring understand south African history
Well, you would suggest incorrectly. I have a reasonable understanding of SA history.

And I'm not upset either, I am just not sure sportsmen should be enforced to make a gesture, that is nothing to do with the game in question, that for whatever reason they wish not to

There is a very clear historical difference between an Irishman not wishing to wear the poppy and a white South African not wishing to take the knee. You have be a bit desperate to score internet points not to acknowledge the difference. Put simply, one is the symbol of the oppressor the other shows solidarity with the oppressed. If he has a good reason not to take the knee, given his country of birth and their brutal history of oppressing the native population he should be stating it. If he cannot, his silence will condemn him.
In your opinion. It does not make it so. At all.

FFS Social Media is awash with it.
Until he makes a statement the majority of people will simply put two and two together.
I do have an element of sympathy for him, he may have just reason for not taking the knee (although I couldn't imagine what that would be) but I repeat, as a role model he carries responsibilities.

So you know the history yet choose to ignore it’s significance? That’s worrying

He has no responsibility to explain any such thing at all, no matter how many times you repeat it.
I couldn't give a **** what social media is awash with.

He doesn't have to explain it, he's decided not to play, that's his choice.

It would be honest of him to do so, all the same. I think his team mates might appreciate it too.

His employees for this tournament set out their stall for a collective of expectations for those taking part, as I guess they would with others things too such as, drinking, curfews, media responsibilities etc.

He decided he couldn't/wouldn't go along with their expectations and therefore excluded himself. I wonder if he would have had a different stance if there was an expectation to wear a black arm band in respect of someone's death.

His reasons are his, he can choose whether to share them or not, however the silence leaves a hole which others will fill, but that his choice. Often someone's silence can say more than their words.

Thankfully from a football perspective we have GS who so graciously and eloquently lead from the front on this very issue.

I expect in due course he will speak to the press.

I presume everyone speculating on his reasons think he is anti-marxist.

And if he doesn't accept his responsibility as a role model it will be the end of his career.
Worse still he'll be held up as a beacon for bigots and racists the world over.

I don't believe it's worrying at all. I'm not ignoring SA history. I'm defending the right of a sportsman to not be coerced into making a non sporting gesture that he is uncomfortable with in order to play for his national side.

I'm a staunch supporter of BLM. I'm also a Marxist as it happens. However, many people have an issue with BLM and, however misguided I think those misgivings may be, I believe people should not be forced to support the movement/general cause.

Without googling which Marxist polices do you favour?

They probably did with the 3 options agree in the summer expected be followed before the game starts. Then after playing a game and without consulting the players they decided to tell them you are now expected to take the knee. He as is reason why he doesn’t want to take the knee that’s up him but everytime I’ve watched him play he as been respectful before the game starts.
