DCI_Gene_Hunt RIP

Very sad news, I knew of Dave through gig photography and I have covered a few gigs at The Westy, sadly none of his, I didn't know him personally though. A big loss, condolences to, and thoughts with, his family and closest friends. RIP.

It is with great sadness that I must report the passing of DCI_Gene_Hunt.
AKA Dave Griffiths a dedicated Teesside music promoter, he brought so many top acts and top nights to the people of Teesside.
Acts such as Pete Wylie, Spear of Destiny, Martin Stephenson, The Filthy Tongues, The Fallen Leaves to name a notable handful.
DCI was a big poster on this forum in every sense. He argued his corner and stood his ground but he always posted from the heart as well as the head. He will be really missed.
Dave/DCI passed away on Friday from cancer - deepest sympathies to his wife Debbie and family at what must be such a very difficult time.
RIP

Lovely guy. Am forever thankful to him for getting Pete Wylie on here on Teesside a few years back.

My heart sank a bit when I saw this thread title. This board and the Teesside music scene have lost a valued contributor.

My thoughts go out to family and friends.

RIP
