Yep. Reminds me of that scene in band of brothers where Schwimmers character refuses to salute Winters and Winter's tells him you salute the rank not the man.

Grown up leadership and diplomacy means respecting Trump's office, even if they secretly despise the man.

However that does not mean going along with everything he does of course. I'd hope they just play Trump with a straight bat.

Ah, well, nevertheless...

Trump has been democratically elected and deserves the respect he has been given by Lammy. That's only right.
The same goes for Netanyahu, the same went for Bolsanaro, Putin etc. All horrible people but have been voted in by the people.
It doesn't change the fact that they have elected an odious orange pig and it is not hypocritical of Lammy, in any way.

EDIT: much the same as the daft posh tw.at was given the respect deserved as the elected British PM.
