it's all down to the remote control golf balls they have these days. The players don't know they are that way, but the tournament organisers are able to control the balls via remote control so they can make sure of lots of excitement...they don't want somebody going out and winning everything in a canter so they have to have a way to even things up a bit, hence the remote controlled balls.
