I’ve been one of your biggest critics but of late you have made me sit up and take notice.

Tonight you won me fully round. That was an outrageous midfield performance against 3 very good international players ( 2 of them them they paid 100 million for)

Well done Dan I’m lost for words. Tapped the badge at the end of the game too. He will do for me.

I've always said he needed to have a good run of games and to be shown the love.

Carrick mentioned after the Villa game that with him, Howson and Hackney all fit and on form, he can afford to rotate to keep players fresh. Tonight was an exception with the bans but add O’Brien to the mix and we should have a good second half of the season to build on.

I was impressed with the way we played it out from the back early on in the game and Barlaser was key to that.

I've always thought he was a really good player and just thought it was a a case of finding his feet. That pass tonight and that pass vs West Brom helped win us the game.

I wonder if O’Brien might come in on Saturday for either Jonny or Barlaser - giving O’Brien an hour or so might be a good idea whilst resting one of the others. I would think Greenwood and Rogers will both be back in as well given there were some very tired and battered legs out there at the end

Did anyone hear the wifey on Sky saying his ball to Jones was a bit hit and hope? (words to that effect) Definitely not going to do a Joey Barton as I thoughts she was a decent pundit......but come on, credit where credit's due.

I thought that. She may not have seen him much before to know that's his game.

But in the second half we changed tactics and nearly every goal kick was kicked long with Chelsea winning back possession from most of them. It was obviously ordered by Carrick and allowed us to start with a high defensive line which slowed Chelsea’s rebuild down. Probably trigged by Howson’s pass which gave Palmer a big chance. The best chances that Chelsea had in the first half, Glover’s fumble aside, were presented to them by our mistakes in losing possession when playing out from the back.

hes got quality for sure. but he really struggled to compete with their pace, same with howson. we got dominated. they constantly took the ball off us in the middle. all we could do was sit in and hope to get out occasionally.
