Dan Barlaser

Decent against Luton, disappointing today. Where is his set piece expertise that we were told he had?

His lofting of the ball in the box late on today was poor, not creative at all.

Might sound strange but I always feel you need your central midfielders to have that bit of character or edge. To grab hold off a game, to get a bit peeved off and kick start a team performance off. It's a hugely influential area of the pitch and he's just a bit too timid and on the edges for me.

Yes, it looks pretty, yes, it's great when we're cruising and the passes are being sprayed about, but it's more about the times when those things aren't happening.

As said above, when you need a drive and someone to get things going.

Maybe that might come as he settles, but I'd like him to have more meaningful influence to be considered a starter.

I still feel it's very early days for him, he's come into a team that was flying and has sat it out on the bench, he probably feels he can't play his natural game and impose himself on it yet but just try to be an effective piece of the jigsaw. Howson when he came hads lots of criticism for his first couple of seasons on here, look what happened there.

Was i watching the wrong game? I thought he played very well.

Nobody was great but he didn't put a foot wrong, moved the ball well, and quick.

It's blatantly clear to see he's a good player.
