Dan Barlaser not for sale!

According to the Daily Mail we've had a 900k bid rejected and despite initial encouragement from Rotherham they say he's not for sale.

He's not signing a new deal but not kicking up a fuss to move.

The way I see it is, he'll probsbly end up here in the summer If we remain in the championship. If we end up in the PL I'd imagine the club would have more PL ready targets and he'd no longer be on the list.

Will he force the move before the end of the window? Or stay put.

Ardon Jashiri's name mentioned in midweek. I'd imagine he's a target for both scenarios at his asking price

I'm not surprised they're saying he's not for sale for 900k, that's a pathetic offer.

I'm not opening the Daily Mail link, but my bet is that's just been made public to list a price, effectively saying they want more, without saying it directly, and someone will pay more, a lot more.

He leaves for free In 6 months 900k is about right
He only leaves for free if he wants to leave for free. If clubs want him, and think 3m or more is a good deal for him, and there's competition for him, then they will pay it. Clubs have paid 5m plus for worse. Low fees often mean high wages though, it's inversely proportional for end-of-contract deals.

Cheap fees only happen end of contract when the players really want out, and when there are a lack of suitable clubs, similar to how we got done over on the Tav deal, clearly wanted away, which is fair enough, but not many potential prem clubs could guarantee him a game, keeps price low. The other way is how we got so much for Spence, a few clubs will have been eyeing him up or sniffing around, after the very public cup run and promotion etc, which is why we had spurs pants down.

Nearly anyone in the championship would want Barlaser at that price, which means he won't likely go for that price.

Think it’s a very good offer for someone with 6 months on his contract. They won’t get much more than that for sure.

Don’t most clubs do the not moving, never moving, happy at the club, not for any price thing.. just before a player moves?

We managed it with Darragh right enough. I don’t think Barlaser would be as expensive as him.

Not sure I'd go much beyond that when he's going to available for nothing in next to no time.

We signed Matt Crooks for around that and he wasn't about to become a free agent, and he was more freescoring.

Can't blame them for holding out when their survival could rely on it, but I don't think we should be pushing out the boat too much on this one.

Sky Sports News reporting it to on their transfer center.
Barlaser has his heart set on Boro and wants Rotherham to accept the bid as he wants them to get some money for him.

A million ish seems about right ish for a decent Championship player with 6 months left on his contract. But, I'm sure I read somewhere Newcastle have a decent sell on fee incoming. Can't blame Rotherham for their stance, keep hold of him for a few more games and get as much as possible (if his head doesn't go in the meantime).

Nice to hear how much he wants to come here. Hopefully we can agree an acceptable fee and it doesn’t drag on too much.
