Damn you Corbyn

No no I’m not they never hid it

writing it on the digger wasn’t exactly subtle

by the way I’m not back tracking on anything I stand by every word
Writing on a digger. I didn't realise it spelt out the exact process they were going to use. 🤣🤣🤣

You are completely wrong. Nothing in their manifesto mentioned a hard brexit.

Boris Johnson promised £23.5 billion (€27.4 billion) worth of public spending and tax relief on Sunday as he unveiled the Conservative manifesto with a promise that Britain will be out of the European Union by January 31.

Yes who knew
You're getting "brexit" and "hard brexit" mixed up to have a go at me. That's a shame you have to be like that

Look at them all trying to backtrack.

You're wrong about a Tory vote being a definite vote for a hard brexit BTW

Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it?
If I remember rightly, one of the Conservative's slogans stated that they would 'get Brexit done.' This to me meant that they would get it done either with or without a deal, with the latter being a hard Brexit.

Not having a go at anyone

just pointing setting a deadline that all but ensured a hard brexit.

was kind of the give away.

That's a huge leap of fantasy.

But hey you'd rather insult my voting record than acknowledge brexit. That's fine you're not the only one

Can I just ask what was it about boris Rees mogg raab Patel and gove that you thought they be so benevolent.

No one is insulting your voting record, you are just twisting words again.

What part of Brexit haven't I acknowledged?

The shortage of resources, the 90-day rule, my plans of moving to Europe put on hold, job losses, the damage to the fishing industry, the cost of living - which part don't I recognise.

Can I ask you though, which one of the pledges that you linked enticed you to vote Conservative, because all I can see below is the same guff that people who voted Brexit fell for?

Conservative election pledges at a glance

  • £23.5 billion worth of tax cuts and public spending between 2020 and 2024
  • Raised threshold for National Insurance contributions
  • £22 billion further spending on flood defences, rail links and road improvements
  • No extension to the Brexit implementation deadline of December 2020
  • 50,000 more nurses with — although The Guardian later reported that this figure includes 19,000 nurses who are already in training
  • £1 billion extra every year on social care
  • Immigration controls for lower-skilled migrants, but fast-track visas for doctors
  • Migrants from the EU will only be able to access welfare after five years
  • Scrap the Fixed-term Parliaments Act that it introduced in 2010
  • At least 2% of spending on defence, ahead of NATO target

So no "hard Brexit" then. Thanks for these

And a few attributable quotes from that socialist left wing rag the FT

3. The EU will want to negotiate a new deal with the UK because “they’ve got the Brexit MEPs they don’t particularly want; they want us out; they’ve got the incentive of the money . . . but you have the extra incentive of course that the UK will be ready to come out, as you know, on WTO terms.”

And if that wasn’t clear enough

4. “So we are getting ready to come out on October the 31st. Come what may . . . Do or die. Come what may.”

This comment to Talk Radio is the strongest commitment he has made to no deal. Until now he has said it is “eminently feasible” and the UK “must” leave by October 31. This is far bolder.

5. “Well I do [believe I can get a no-deal Brexit through the Commons] . . . I think that MPs on both sides of the House also understand that they will face mortal retribution from the electorate unless we get on and do it.”

I think almost every one of those manifesto promises have either been broken or proven an unmitigated strategic failure.

I'm an EU sceptic despite being a proud European. Maybe I'm actually a government sceptic, despite being a fan of big government.

Be cynical, question, oppose, hold elected officials to account and institutions to high standards. It's important for a healthy democracy. If we don't we end up with this kind of **** and those of us who actually understand and care about democracy are left with our heads in our hands as those who shout loudest about it undermine it in at best their misleaded expression of it.

Trying to turn brexit, political issues in general, into fag packet politics is reckless and undemocratic.

The whole thing is embarrassing and other than missing Teesside, friends, family, Boro and enjoying supporting England (I'm a patriotic person) I find it really difficult to connect or have much love for England these days and I'm glad I'm well away from it all.

Corbyn is a clear opponent of unchecked power and that's a valid criticism of the EU or at least the direction it could be heading in. It is however a considerably more ethical, less corrupt and more diligent group of would be policy makers than The Conservative Party and if you still can't see they're literally taking the p!ss out of you then you're a complete mug.
