Dael Fry

Its been 7 years since he signed his first professional contract with us.
155 Boro appearances.
Hes 25 on 30th August.
We could get a decent price - and it might do Dael no harm to have a change of scenery?
£10M(y)
£10m is a bit short for me r00fie what about £50m 😍

There are some short memories here. This is the same Dael Fry that had Harry Kane and Ronaldo in his pocket last season. He’s suffered with injuries but he’s still far and away our best centre half. We should be building the defence around him.

I agree with this but all good things come to an end, if we could get a decent fee and it strengthens the team then I’d be all for it.

I was talking to Dael in Starbucks on Cargo Fleet Lane last week. Chatted about Boro for a few minutes. He said there has been interest in him this summer but he isn't going anywhere. He wants to stay and get back into the team consistently.

Don't think Lenihan is good enough. Too slow and clumsy.

Attitude over ability? Ok yes I understand, but sometimes there needs to be some ability too.

I assumed Fry had been injured, but if tactical I wouldn't be surprised if he's replaced by Greaves. While I think Dael is a better player than Lenihan, he's not really developed into a Wilder type - for example he isn't much of a threat at set pieces or a talker/organiser - we defended corners better yesterday after Dael went off as well. Am starting to think Wilder prefers Bola as left centre back if we don't bring in Greaves?

Yeah Lenihan getting a lot of stick for the goals conceded but let’s also give him credit for the 2nd equaliser. A good header across to assist Akpom

I remember Fry getting slated for doing the exact same against Sheff United away last season, pumping long balls that were going no where because he was panicking under United's press.

Did the same yesterday and Wilder rightfully took him off.

I think he'll be off as well if we can get a LCB in, unfortunately, as he is a great CB, just not what Wilder seems to want.

I thought he was very very poor yesterday. His distribution was nowhere near good enough for a modern day CB playing in a team setup like Wilders.

On a couple of occasions where he wasn’t under any real pressure he smashed it out……really poor from a professional of his apparent ability.

I don’t think he’d cut it in the PL IMHO, but I’d bite someone’s hand off for £10m!!!!

It won't strengthen the team getting rid of your best players rarely does lenihan Vs fry is like Simon Coleman Vs Gary pallister

And how's getting rid of tav going

So we keep him for ever or let him run his contract down and go on a free?

People have moaned for years we aren't like Brentford.

Brentford have sold their best players season on season and are sat in the PL having dicked Man U.

Selling players isn't an issue, replacing them is, we need to trust the recruitment team will get it right.
