I wouldn’t say getting rid of him was that good an idea, he was quite decent and we didn’t replace him with anyone as good, he did alright at Fulham whenever I saw him.
 
Terrible footballer, can not defend the far post. He went awol for Derby, us, Fulham and now Forest.

I don’t credit Pulis for anything in truth. We were just lucky Fulham bizarrely made a daft offer and Pulis had Shotton so Gibbo took the profit on offer. He did the same with Luke Young and others. (All in my opinion of course)
 
I was no Shotton fan, but we had Fulhams pants down moneywise for Christie tbf. I would take Shotton over Christie if a gun was held to my head
 
Shotton did. He own a pub in Cheddleton and was persuaded to put his boots on. They lost 3-2 in an FA Trophy game.
 
was wondering what he was doing, the window still open for out of contract players it think. Going to be a hard winter for a l;ot of players out of contract
 
Surely we'd have offered Shotton a 1 year deal on a wage comparable with say, Marvin Johnson? Decent player at this level and can cover right back.

Does he just not care about playing anymore? Or does his pride just prevent him from taking a big pay cut? There's no chance he should be without a club if he wanted one.
 
He's actually the only Monk player that we made some money on (I think?).

The rest have left for a fraction of what we paid or for nothing. So small 'bonus' 👍
 
It was an absolute miracle that we got our money back and even made a profit to cover his wage.
Christie was, is and will always be a very poor footballer.
I'm so glad he got on their coach afterwards and not ours.
