Cummings on Johnson

The main difference between Cummings and Johnson is that Cummings wanted responsibility without the limelight and Johnson wants the limelight without the responsibility, Cummings is a loner, who shuns personal interaction as much as possible and relies on his process and procedures rather than the emotional and personality approach of Johnson, Cummings, I believe like Blair, will lie to protect or promote, Johnson I believe is a compulsive liar who lies out of habit and has no grasp of the truth, he wouldn't necessarily benefit from his lies but the cult around his personality protects him from the same scrutiny and consequence that Cummings and Blair, for example, would face. Of Cummings and Johnson, I'd not fully trust either but I believe Cummings has a handle on the truth and would only be dishonest to protect himself or his own agenda.

I honestly don't believe anyone thinks that Johnson is capable of doing the details part of the job of Prime Minister anymore but there are plenty who still believe his personality and public performance more than offset that obvious deficiency within the Johnson skill set.

Give Brian Cox a ring and get D Ream reformed I sense a song coming

Does anyone take serious anything Cummings says. What a horrible bitter twisted man.
Much of what he has previously said has been supported by other sources
I suspect when he speaks of others it's a different approach to when he lied about his own actions.
That's not defending him as an individual.

Cummings has been giving it both barrels on Twitter all week, but I think he's just annoyed that no-one takes him seriously and he's essentially finished, while some of the massive structures he was trying to tear down (civil service, approval processes for spending taxpayers money) are still standing.

For all his whining about how he's the only one who could see what was happening and his constant reference to Johnson as 'clown' (no disagreement from me on that), he was the one who was outflanked and out-manouvered by the very people he insists are too dense to operate.

Cummings is irrelevant and has been for a while.
Except he isn't really, is he? He was privy to the very centre of this corrupt rabble and the decisions they took.

No question about it he's a truly vile bloke but despite that he's still marginally below Johnson in those stakes. At least he eventually apologised for his part in the mess whereas Johnson continues to lie and throw others under the bus for his lies, ineptitude and corruption.

He had is least chance to be relevant when asked to produce evidence at a select committee and didn't.

He really is irrelevant and is reduced to sniping from the sidelines.

I lot of his evidence was recollection of conversations, which are difficult to support. If he had diaries with transcripts, he should have handed them over.
