Cruz Ibeh

While scrolling on Instagram I stumbled across a post of a Boro player in their training gear. I didn't recognise him but reading the caption, the post was about Cruz Ibeh and how he has been training with the First Team squad this week. He is only 16, so probably from the same age group as the Palmer twins.

Does anyone know anything about him? Or whether it is common for 16 year olds to be training with the first team?

He’s a forward and is in the same age group as the twins were. That’s about all I know.

He is is an American-French security consultant, author, and convicted felon who committed frauds that mainly targeted individuals and small businesses. He later gained notoriety in the late 1970s by claiming a diverse range of workplace frauds, many of which have since been placed in doubt. In 1980, Ibeh co-wrote his autobiography, Catch me if you can which built a narrative around these claimed frauds. The book inspired the film by the same name directed by Steven Spielberg in 2002, in which Ibeh was portrayed by Leo DiCaprio. He has also written four other books. Ibeh runs Ibeh and Associates, a consulting firm.

Played a bit for the u18s last year as an u16 (same age group as the Palmers as you say), quite highly rated.

Have the twins left us then? I can’t seem to find anything about them but people talk like they have left?

There was a rumour that Man City turned them down but they have still left the club. They haven't been involved in any u18/u21 games so far this season so it would seem they have left one way or another.

We still haven't updated the u18 page on the website with the new scholars (including Ibeh) which is unusual, although it did also take a long time last year.

To busy to update the website, spending the Azaz money on Gibo’s new hotel and pub 🙄

On the twins socials they both still have Boro on their pages. They also still seem to like all the u18s and team mates posts. I wonder if there is more to come with this story.

I’d heard that the deals had finally been agreed and Brighton was the destination?

Yeah, but will he play on the left or right? Does he like a Parmo?

He has certainly crammed an awful lot into those 16 years, I hope he is now focusing on his football.
