Crowd reaction to downing today

I think it’s fair to say that some of our fans have always had something of a love hate relationship with downing. As he does seem to split opinion, so as a returning opposition player I wonder what type of reception he will get today.

I agree I’ve always liked downing and I’ll be clapping him before the game but I do think it may be mixed.

Always a trier for Boro and one of our most capped. He deserves applause.

Good reception for stewey onHis return and nice to see him clap the crowd back as well.

Only black mark was some weirdos booing him when he took a corner, but more people clapped him.

If I was there today, I would have clapped him. His first spell at Boro was special. OK when he returned it was mixed, but time was catching up with him.
