Crooks needs his Op sorting out now!!

Crooks again last night was the weakest link, looks half a yard slow, and no wonder if his hernia is flaring up during matches,.
We cannot afford to carry a midfielder week in week out, who's nowhere near 100% fit.
The club needs to sort this out now, its not fair on the players around him, its not fair on Crooks, we have enough cover to get this done.

To be replaced by who exactly?

Yes he gives everything but you can see how much he's struggling

I agree, it's not fair on Crooks who is absolutely giving everything, but he may be making the injury worse by playing with painkillers or whatever. I have no idea how long the recovery time is from a hernia op (I imagine that it's one of those "piece of string length" things) so by delaying until the international break and possibly making the injury worse it might be that he wouldn't be recovered for the resumption of the season.

Get him under the knife. If we're going four in midfield McGree, Hackney, Howson, Jones with Mowatt, Luongo and Boyd-Munce on the bench.

Thought he did okay last night, but clearly struggling. Looks like he's been told to play on to the WC then get the hernia sorted then. Hope it doesn't make it worse.

Is it his hernia or maybe something else? I can’t for the life of me understand why the management team insist on playing him with a hernia problem. It’s a serious injury which if not dealt with could cause serious long term issues. That’s why I’m not convinced it is isn’t something else.

There may be something in that. Something we don’t know about.

His booking again last night was shocking, so cheap. Im sure he bets on himself to get booked. I thought he should of came off earlier but we are hardly brimming with midfielders to replace him with.

Trust me having had a recent hernia issue myself you don’t play football through it and I do hope it is something else. To field him with a hernia injury could ruin his whole career.

Maybe they are waiting for him to accumulate enough bookings for a ban, then he'll be straight in for the op. A lot of people in the match thread noting his poor performance last night. This lad was great for us last season and is playing through the pain barrier, let's get behind him and hope he is soon back to his best after the WC/op.

Strange question?

Mcgree... Mowatt ... Mcnair ..Luongo...or Dijsteel could play right mid..

Or would you rather play a crocked midfielder that's not playing well and is hindering the team, plus risking more damage?
Obviously he can play otherwise he wouldn’t be on the field.

McGree - 2nd string number 10
Mowatt - looks like he’s injured too
McNair - Wilders headboy looks broken
Luongo - Hasn’t made one appearance
Diksteel - He’s a right back

What happens if we save it to the international break and then Southgate gives him the call up. Selfish of the club to be jeopardising his chances like this

Obviously he can play otherwise he wouldn’t be on the field ?? Yes he is playing, and obviously he is carrying an injury, due to his poor form and blowing out of his ars*

If he has a hernia then he should not play football at any level., It could become a strangulated hernia if stretched/aggravated through playing sports. then that would be a lengthy lay off.

My point is this, you cannot carry anyone, so get the injury sorted.. and play the 2nd string number 10...

Obviously? It is blatantly obvious that he was not himself last night and from what we have seen he hasn’t been himself since the last quarter of last season. Frankly any one of those 5 would be better employed at the moment despite your reservations. You just don’t play a player through a hernia or whatever else he has because like some others I’m not convinced it’s a hernia.

I guess the options are McNair and Mowatt in those 2 CDM roles. Neither inspire me with confidence. I guess hernia recovery is 6 weeks or so. I'd expect Crooks will go under the knife 2 weeks before the league shuts down for the world cup, meaning he may be back for the first game in December, maybe.

Didn't see the game as was out but I thought Hackney was playing alongside Howson in the CDM role. Was that not the case?

Obviously in that he was on the pitch. Luongo hasn’t featured so nobody knows what state he is in at the moment and the rest are currently behind an academy player..

I’m not disagreeing with you about Crooks looking a little worse for wear. I’m assuming he has been assessed and checked over to be give the go ahead to be played.

Any cover for Crooks might even come in the form ogle another academy players.. I’m not sure where everyone is there and how close they are from the first team. Gibson was close last season, Bilongo looked the part in pre season.. Fletcher plays in the same position as Crooks at least.

The change in formation has helped but we still need to bolster the midfield in January.
We were on the right lines with Ampadu and Onyeka.. hopefully we can get players of that sort of calibre over the line.
