Crooks needs his Op sorting out now!!

Obviously in that he was on the pitch. Luongo hasn’t featured so nobody knows what state he is in at the moment and the rest are currently behind an academy player..

I’m not disagreeing with you about Crooks looking a little worse for wear. I’m assuming he has been assessed and checked over to be give the go ahead to be played.

Any cover for Crooks might even come in the form ogle another academy players.. I’m not sure where everyone is there and how close they are from the first team. Gibson was close last season, Bilongo looked the part in pre season.. Fletcher plays in the same position as Crooks at least.

The change in formation has helped but we still need to bolster the midfield in January.
We were on the right lines with Ampadu and Onyeka.. hopefully we can get players of that sort of calibre over the line.
Well I’m assuming g he has as well and that’s why I suggest it may not be a hernia issue. I’ve heard it might be something different but that was hear’say

who says he has a 'Hernia' that requires surgery?

its conjecture isnt it - he wouldn't and couldn't play pro football with an 'Hernia' that needs a surgeon.

i see he has donated a shirt and a pair of game & players lounge tickets V Huddersfield for the Boro lad who is raising funds for his sisters medical bills - its blind bids and the highest wins, closing at mid day today - on twitter Mr Middlesbrough @SmogOnTheTees

I'd like to announce that is NOT me. Thank you.

I know one thing, that given the weakness of our midfield we need to get Matt Crooks fit and firing, as he is the best player in it when fit.

It has disappointed me that quite a few posters are actually giving the lad stick for playing on in obvious discomfort and restriction.
It was great to hear his song sung as he was eventually substituted.

He is still my favourite Boro player and yes I know I am probably in a minority.

Inguinal, Incisional, Umbilical, Hiatal or Femoral?

Didn't see the game as was out but I thought Hackney was playing alongside Howson in the CDM role. Was that not the case?
At times it looked that way and other times Hackney was forward and Crooks was back. So not really sure

Guess they kept rotating it but going back to your original point of having either McNair or Mowatt alongside Howson (something I wouldn't want), we maybe wouldn't need to if Hackney could play there with McGree or Mowatt as the Nr10

Obviously he can play otherwise he wouldn’t be on the field.

McGree - 2nd string number 10
Mowatt - looks like he’s injured too
McNair - Wilders headboy looks broken
Luongo - Hasn’t made one appearance
Diksteel - He’s a right back
Football has form for letting players carry on playing who shouldn't be.

For example OG Ronaldo with triangle haircut and everything who shouldn't have been playing on any of those Brazil games turn due to the state of his mental health. The man was teetering on a full on mental breakdown. But such was the pressure put on him by his country men and women he felt he had no choice.

One wonders what it must do for the morale of other midfielders in the club who can't get any notable minutes because a Crooks who's playing on 3 cylinders instead of 4 is starting every week regardless of previous results and a notable drop in form.

As someone explained a while back it will be a 'sports hernia' not a full on inguinal hernia (yet) ............... Sports Hernia

If he does need an op (and apparently he does), speaking as someone who is currently nursing a full on inguinal hernia, I wonder if the Boro could negotiate a BOGOF deal and squeeze me in at the same time.:)

I would really like to see Dijksteel played in that role. Played there early in his career and has all the skills to be a good destructive CM that can carry the ball forward.

Or McNair given a proper run of games in that role.

Or Hackney deep and McGree further forward.

I think there are options.
