Cricket - 2nd test

Some reckless shots being played. They need to show this bowler a bit more respect. 5 for on debut already.

Agreed. Although others would argue it’s the batting style that got us the win in the the 1st test.

Either way, guaranteed this team is going to divide opinion at times, especially on mornings like this one! 😆

Yeah I get that. It’s the way they want to play so maybe we need to get used to it. It’s just jarring when you lose a couple of quick wickets to elaborate shots.

Sometimes you still need to take a small step back then go again when set.

Can’t say it’s not interesting though 👍🏼

Abrar 5 wickets on debut. Impressive. He has only played 24 first class matches before today. We perhaps should have gone with a second spinner?

Yeah, my natural impulse would be to bat it out until Lunch.

On the plus side, if we can get up towards 300. That should be a competitive score. Pitch turning quite a lot for day one. It’ll only worsen.

Easy to forget, but a year ago England were quite capable of being this number of wickets down at this stage in a match (you could argue it was likely even). The difference is they'd probably still be labouring towards 100 trying to play a "test innings".

Easier to forgive the odd loose shot (and all sides/players do it from time to time) when the scoreboard is ticking over at a good rate.
