Creating a new problem.

We all said we need a goalkeeper, left wingback and strikers in the close season to improve. The defence with Fry, McNair and Dijksteel were not a problem last year. So why are we now creating a problem by bringing in Bola and Lenihan? These two should be on the bench.

It's difficult as we had no proper competition last year. Fry gets injured at some point and Paddy was shattered towards the end of the season.
But in bringing in such a big name as Lenihan, we then struggle to keep everyone happy if they are all fit.
Not sure what the answer is.

I‘ll be honest, McNair one of the first names on the team sheet for me, even at left of the 3 CBs. I never really understood the criticism he was getting back end of last season.

I have to say I have asked myself this question, the thinking here by CW isn't obvious.

I get that he wanted a talker at the back, so box ticket there with Lenihan, but I'm yet to be convinced that he's a better player than Fry. That said I accept that Fry needed cover, given his injury record, so its a good signing for that alone.

But then Bola at LWB ahead of Paddy is one I'm struggling to get my head around, given that Bola didn't feature there at all last season and Paddy was fit today.

Then again I suggested a while ago that Bola would start the season at LWB, so I shouldn't be too surprised.

I think the conclusion is that we have better depth across those positions now, which was an issue last season.

We just need to options in midfield and up front now.

We looked much better with Akpom on the pitch by the way.

Think you mean LCB

Wilder has said a few times previously, that he wants it to be a case of players having to fight to get back in the team, and to be fair, Bola has done alright at LCB. I’d like to see Paddy back in there now though. Good to know that Bola can absolutely cover there and LWB.

Don't think Bola did anything wrong today.

Dijksteel was poor for a few of the goals and he's a mainstay.

I'll be glad to see Fry back in the side though.
Agreed about Bola but where was Jones. He missed tackles for first goal and numerous others. But can't criticise the golden boy.

We will see Fry back whether we like it or not but Lenihan was dire today.
