Coulson Wing, Spence

3 bright stars for a purple patch under JW, I think they all have real potential if managed to their strengths, 2 moved on, the other looking like he's on his way. Disappointing that NW hasn't really given them an opportunity, perhaps they're too creative or maybe they couldn't take to his hit high, hit it long style of football. Best of luck to them anyway.

Coulson and Spence have never created anything other than problems in our own box.
I wish Coulson well and hope he has a great loan experience, Lewis Wing too. Spence I just don't get.
Perhaps more attack minded rather then creative then. Although being attack minded often leads the creating opportunities along the way.

Wing got an assist from a corner for Sheff wed
The thing is, if Payero comes, Wingy would not get a game and he needs football. Maybe he has also said he would be moving on next season come what may. He will do well at Weds. I can see his career path following Reach’s.

Spence played most matches last season. Not sure how anyone could say he wasn't given an opportunity. And Coulson had a decent few run outs. Maybe fair to say Wing hasn't had much of a chance.

I'm glad people have finally realised just how bad Spence is.

Some people said I had a personal vendetta against him last season, but I just couldn't for the life of me understand why people kept defending him.

He's absolutely awful, and has been since a couple of decent games at the start under Woody.

I don't think any of them were given a consistent run, game in and a game out for Spence and substitute appearances, Coulson and Wing hardly got a look in. People can say they are not good enough and maybe they aren't, my point was I don't believe they have been given an opportunity to build on the potential I thought they had shown at a point in time.

Like with some of our younger players it would be nice to see some opportunities, nurturing and confidence building going on (maybe it is, I don't know) but it seems we are going down the route of older pro's who NW knows, that might work but all feels a little short sighted, but we'll see. Either way hopefully the football played will be much better then was served up last season.

22 starts, 16 sub appearances in the league last season. So not quite one in, one out for Spence. Fair enough he was moved around a bit between RB and RW but still, you can't IMHO say playing in 38 matches out of 46 is not getting an opportunity.

Just looking at his stats, he certainly played more than Wing and Coulson. Looks like he played only 12 full games and only 4 consecutively and they were in two different positions.

Is that a good enough consistent opportunity? I guess we will have are own view.

Dunno if it has been said elsewhere on here but I just read Wing has extended his Boro contract to 2023 as part of an agreement to let him go to Weds this season. Warnock wanted him to stay it seems. So not gone for good.
