Clarke could absolutely not play left back for boro except in a last 10 minutes backs to the wall job or a last ditch emergency

He has almost no attributes to be a full back and especially a full back playing the way Carrick wants a full back to play
 
I hope they sign him permanently, I never want to see him play for us again.

League 1 might just be his level although I hope Blackpool have signed him as a winger and not a left back 😂
 
Why was he given a new contract ? A couple of pretty average loan spells at Aberdeen and Peterborough then offered a new 4 year deal? To then be sent on loan again 6 months later.

He played out of us out of desperation due to us having no one else at the start of the season and he was so out of his depth.
 
That suggests to me that Finn Azaz was his replacement in the squad.

Why let him go for the sake of it and be left short?

You could argue we did that with Spence and Wood.
