Should be able to stay 2mtrs apart at all times, batsman running at opposite sides of the wicket, slip fielders 2 metres apart everyone else is spread out ?! Why not ??? As long as there are no high fives after wickets are taken...

Just checked the laws regarding umpires (law 2) and mentions nothing on the disrance between umpire at bowlers end and the bowler.

I think the guidelines are about amateur, local level sport. There is no technology available for local club cricket matches, so they won't be happening for a while.

Elite level sports like football or rugby can't happen yet because of distancing issues. Also players don't help the cause by firing snot rockets and gobbing all over the place.

A bowler wipes sweat on the ball deliberately (or not ) then ball played to fielder who picks it up. Not hard to understand the issue there. Gloves won’t help

Thats going to be the problem, passing the ball around.

That's a point never thought of that, but why not wear gloves surely no more dangerous than working in a supermarket ?
Because in sport unlike shopping you will be very tempted to rub your face involuntary or not. The habits of cricketers are such that licking fingers to grip the ball etc is very commonplace.

There was a rumour that they were considering legalising ball tampering.

Taking a chunk out of it with some sand paper negates the need to shine it up.

Could lead to some low totals though.

If you were wearing gloves you wouldn't be able to lick your fingers, just remember not to touch your face, it's the same as when you go shopping....

Yes you could warn a fielder not to touch his face but my point in sport a lot of movement is instinctive because of the concentration on the play. Gloves or no gloves I don’t see the protection.

I don't touch my face during shopping and driving home, shouldn't be a problem especially if you were wearing gloves. Could have 1 hour sessions with 10 minutes break
