Could F1 be about to introduce “reverse” DRS

They need to do the same as formula E with the boost zones you have to travel through to build up enough for a flying lap or overtake.

If you want the boost you have to earn it

That sounds awful, not sure what’s wrong with just letting them race as the sport has done for the last 70 years, and still remained more popular than every series of motorsport combined

It is awful but worst is the fan boost that social media popularity gains another boost.

Artificial gimmick. I'm not in favour of handicapping the race leader in this way. It's about time the FIA and F1 started looking at the suitability of many of the circuits they race at. Too narrow, too many non-risk run-off areas.
That’s Tilke for you and his technicolour car parks. Until they break that link Nothing Will change

Exactly, it doesn’t take a genius to see that the likes of Silverstone, spa, Suzuka all usually produce great races whilst the converted car park street circuits don’t. Regardless of anything else they try, the circuit will always be the main factor on the quality of racing

why not just make them as fast as they can go? or do something interesting like force them to be electric so much needed technology can advance? (real life Scalextric anyone)

I like the idea Jeremy Clarkson had about forcing constructors to make wheelchairs or even beyond that.. but a technological aid for disabled folks.

We all know where it SHOULD be heading.. we're in 2022 for cripes sake!

I don't think you can handicap drivers, that just seems wrong. Maybe just let everyone use DRS whenever they want if they get within a second or two of the car in front wherever they are on the track, not just in the zones.

The problem F1 has is that it’s a sport ran on 3 different axis points one is driver based a sport where drivers compete on track to win the championship. The other is the constructors battle where it’s about winning the most points collectively for the team this is when team orders come into play and this is where the money in the sport is.

The third axis though and the most controversial is the engineering contest where F1 constantly pushed the envelope to bend if not break the rules set down by the FIA/FOCA to gain the advantage. This creates the big differences DAS, F DUCT ( this became the DRS) , the blown diffuser of Braun etc. as F1 is constantly evolving this sets it apart from other motor sport codes.

I am starting to fall out of love with f1. My 1st race was brand hatch 1985. It used to be great but now it is tedious. So much b***ks.

The only way to make it interesting would be a dotted line dividing the track in two, with half the field driving clockwise and the other half anticlockwise.
no, put a guiding fin underneath each car, and some slots in the road for the guiding fin to fit in. Take the drivers out the car and give them a wired controller to manage the acceleration and deceleration of each car.
